3 Getting Started The Ape x telescopes come nearly fully assembled from the f actor y . The optics hav e been installed and collimated, so y ou should not hav e to make an y adjustments to them. Open the bo x and inspect the contents to make sure all of the parts list- ed abov e are present.
4 Camera tripods or altazimuth mounts are desireable f or ter- restrial (land) viewing because they allo w simple ver tical and horizontal mov ement of the telescope. 7 smudges ma y be removed using this method. Use caution; rubbing too hard may scr atch the lens. For the large surf ace of the meniscus lens, clean only a small area at a time , using a fresh lens tissue on each area.
