3 2. Place a large T eflon bearing ring on the dovetail holder as shown in Figure 4. 3. P osition the do vetail holder on the arm as sho wn in Figure 5. The T eflon bear ing surface seats between the dovetail holder and the arm. 4. Place a small T eflon r ing onto one of the knob shafts.
4 6. Place the other large T eflon bearing r ing onto the lower base as shown in Figure 8. 7. Pla ce the r emai ning two sm all T e flon r ing s a nd four di sc springs onto the other knob shaft, the same as in step 4.
5 11. Place the V ersaGo mount onto the tripod. The post on the tripod head should go into the slot on the underside of the lower base (Figure 11). Thread the knob under the tripod head up into the threaded hole in the lower base . Tighten this knob firmly .
6 If you are using the 1/4"-20 dov etail adapter and the finder scope and/or ey epiece is positioned awkwardly , you ma y want to consider purchasing the 1⁄4"-20 dov etail L-adapter . F or best up-and-down motion, the telescope should be bal - anced front-to-bac k when positioned horizontally .
7 When pointing a longer telescope tube, like a long f ocal length refractor , at z enith, extending the tr ipod legs will help better position the e yepiece. F or heavier telescopes, we recommend e xtending the tr ipod legs in order to give the mount a wider stance; this will prev ent the mount from becoming “tippy”.
