Setting up your comput er This section guides you through connecting the main hardware devic es, such as the ex ternal monitor , keyboard, mouse, and pow er cord, to your computer .
Using the onboard displa y output por ts Connect your monitor to the onboard displa y output por t. T o connect an external monitor using the onboard display output ports: 1. Connec t a VGA monitor to the VGA por t, or a DVI-D monitor to the DVI-D port, or an HDMI monitor to the HDMI port on the rear panel of your computer .
Connecting a USB keyboar d and a USB mouse Connect a USB keyboard and a USB mouse to the USB ports on the rear panel of your computer . Connecting the pow er cord Connect one end of the power cord t o the power connector on the rear panel of your computer and the other end to a power sour ce.

Connecting microphone and speak ers This desktop PC comes with microphone ports and speaker ports on both the front and rear panels. The audio I/O ports located on the rear panel allow you to c onnect 2.1- channel, 4.1-channel, and 5.1-channel stereo speakers.

Using the memory card reader Digital cameras and other digital imaging devices use memory cards to store digital picture or media files . The built-in memory card reader on the front panel of your syst em allows you to read fr om and write to differ ent memory card drives.
Using the optical driv e Inserting an optical disc T o inser t an optical disc: 1. While your system is on, press the eject button to open the tray . 2. Place the disc on the optical drive with the label side outward if the desktop is positioned vertically and the label side up if the desktop is positioned horizontally .

Configuring a dynamic IP/PPP oE network connection T o configure a dynamic IP/PPPoE netw ork connection: 1. From the Start screen, click Desktop to launch the Desktop mode. 2. Fr om the Windows ® taskbar , right-click the network icon and click Open Network and Sharing Cent er .
