3 Precautions 1. A C Fuse The fuse is located inside the chassis and is not userser- viceable. If power does not come on, contact your Onk yo authorized service station.
4 Getting to kno w Y our Speaker P ac kage A Speaker terminals These push terminals are for connecting the speaker to the A V receiv er with the supplied speaker cables. The supplied speaker cables are color -coded for easy identification. Simply connect each cable to the same-colored positiv e speaker terminal.
5 Getting to know Y our Speaker P acka ge —Continued D ST ANDBY/ON indicator Red: Subwoofer in standby mode Blue: Subwoofer on W ith the Auto Standby function, the SKW -518/ SKW -501 automatically turns on when an input sig- nal is detected in Standby mode.
6 Connecting the Speaker s Read the following before connecting your speak ers: •T urn off your recei ver before making an y connections. • P ay close attention to speaker wir - ing polarity . Connect positive (+) terminals to only positiv e (+) ter- minals, and negati ve (–) terminals to only negati ve (–) terminals.
7 Connecting the Speakers —Continued The Home Theater means that you can enjo y surround sound with a real sense of movement in your o wn home—just like being in a movie theater or concert hall.
8 Connecting the Speakers —Continued The speakers can easily be wall mounted by using the ke yhole slots. T o prevent the speak er from vibrating against the wall, attach two of the supplied thick rubber stoppers to the rear of each speaker .
9 Po wer Cor d Precautions • Before connecting the power cord, connect all of your speakers and A V components. •T urning on the SKW -518 (HTP-518)/SKW -501 (SKS-HT518) may cause a momentary power sur ge that might interfere with other electrical equipment on the same circuit.
