10 2.Preparation 2. Prep aration 2.1 Inst alling/Replacing the Batteries 1. T urn the main unit upside down. 2. Slide the batter y cover in the direction of the arrow while pressing the ribbed p art of the cover .
11 2.Preparation EN Battery Life & Replacement If the battery low symbol ( ) appears on the display , replace all four batteries at the same time. - When the battery low symbol ( ) start s to blink, you will still be able to use the unit for a short while.

T o make use of the memory and average values function s: • Set the unit to the correct date and time before t aking a measureme nt for the firs t time.

The year is set and the mo nth digit s flash on the display . 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to set the month. The mont h is set and the day dig its flash on the display .

15 3.Using the Unit EN 3. Using the Unit 3.1 How to Sit Correctly When T aking a Measuremen t Y o u can take a measu rement on either y our left or right a rm. Notes: • Measurement s should be t aken in a quiet place and you sho uld be in a relaxed, s eated posit ion.

17 3.Using the Unit EN 3.2 Applying the Arm Cuff Notes: • Be sure to wrap the arm cuf f correctly so that yo u get accurate results. • Measurement s can be ta ken in light clothing. However , please remove thick clothes, such as sweaters, befo re taking a read ing.
18 3.Using the Unit 2. Put your left arm th rough the cuf f loop. Note: If the cuff is not assembled, pass the end of the cuf f furthest from the tubing through the metal D-ring to form a loop. Th e smooth cloth should be on the in side of the cuff loop .
19 3.Using the Unit EN 3. Position the arm correctly . T aking measurement s on th e right arm Apply the cuf f so that the air tube is at the side of your elbow . • Be careful not to rest your arm on the air tube , or otherwise restrict th e flow of air to the cuff.
20 3.Using the Unit 3.3 T aking a Reading 1. Press the O/I ST ART button to turn on the unit . All symbols appear on the display . The cuff start s to inflate automatically . As the cuff inflates, the unit automatically determi nes your ideal inflation level.
21 3.Using the Unit EN 3. Press the O/I ST ART button to turn the unit off. Note: If you forget to turn the monitor off, it will automatically turn off after two minutes. Notes: • Self-diagno sis of measured result s and treatment ar e dangerous. Please follow the instructions of your doctor .
22 3.Using the Unit Using the Guest Mode The monitor sto res measurement valu es for one user in the memory . The guest mode can be used to t ake a single me asurement for another user . No measur ement valu es are store d in the m emory when the guest mode is selected.
23 3.Using the Unit EN Import ant: • If your systolic or diastolic pressure is outside the standa rd range, the heartbeat symb ol will blink when the measurement result is displayed. Recent research suggests that the following values can be used as a guide to high blood pressure for measurement s taken at home.
24 3.Using the Unit What is Irregular Heartbeat? An irregular h eartbeat is a heartbeat rhythm that varies by more than 25% from th e averag e heartbeat rhythm detected wh ile the unit is measuring the systolic and diastolic bloo d pressure.
25 3.Using the Unit EN 3.4 Using the Memory Function This unit has a memory cap able of storing 90 set s of readings. Every time you complete the measurement, the u nit automatically stores the blood pressure and pulse rate. If there are three readings with in 10 minutes of the last reading, the average of the three readin gs is displayed.
26 3.Using the Unit 2. While the aver age value is displayed, press the Memor y button ( ) again. The result from the most recent measurement is displa yed.
27 3.Using the Unit EN 3. Press the Memory button ( ) repeatedly to cycle through the previous measurement results. Keep the bu tton pres sed down to cycle rapidly through the pr evious result s. If the irregular hear tbeat symbol was displayed at the time of a measurement, this is displayed when that result is displayed.
28 3.Using the Unit T o Delete All the V alues S tored in Memory Y ou cannot delete individual stored reading s, all the readings in the unit will be deleted. 1. Press the M emory but ton ( ) to turn the monitor on. 2. Press the M emory but ton ( ) again.
