Click Y es if you want to change the boot logo or No to continue. 5. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the update process.

3-6 Chapter 3: BIOS setup Chapter 3 3.2.3 ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3 utility The ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3 utility is an auto recovery tool that allows you to restore the BIOS le when it fails or gets corrupted during the updating process.
ASUS F1A75-V PRO 3-7 Chapter 3 3.2.4 ASUS BIOS Updater The ASUS BIOS Updater allows you to update BIOS in DOS environment. This utility also allows you to copy the current BIOS le that you can use as a backup when the BIOS fails or gets corrupted during the updating process.

3-10 Chapter 3: BIOS setup Chapter 3 Using the power button , reset button , or the <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<Del> keys to force reset from a running operating system can cause damage to your data or system. We recommend to always shut down the system properly from the operating system.
ASUS F1A75-V PRO 3-1 1 Chapter 3 BIOS menu screen The BIOS setup program can be used under two modes: EZ Mode and Advanced Mode. Y ou can change modes from the Exit menu or from the Exit/Advanced Mode button in the EZ Mode/Advanced Mode screen. EZ Mode By default, the EZ Mode screen appears when you enter the BIOS setup program.
3-12 Chapter 3: BIOS setup Chapter 3 Advanced Mode The Advanced Mode provides advanced options for experienced end-users to congure the BIOS settings. The gure below shows an example of the Advanced Mode. Refer to the following sections for the detailed congurations.
ASUS F1A75-V PRO 3-13 Chapter 3 Menu items The highlighted item on the menu bar displays the specic items for that menu. For example, selecting Main shows the Main menu items. The other items (Ai T weaker , Advanced, Monitor , Boot, T ool, and Exit) on the menu bar have their respective menu items.
3-14 Chapter 3: BIOS setup Chapter 3 3.4 Main menu The Main menu screen appears when you enter the Advanced Mode of the BIOS Setup program. The Main menu provides you an overview of the basic system information, and allows you to set the system date, time, language, and security settings.
ASUS F1A75-V PRO 3-15 Chapter 3 Administrator Password If you have set an administrator password, we recommend that you enter the administrator password for accessing the system. Otherwise, you might be able to see or change only selected elds in the BIOS setup program.
3-16 Chapter 3: BIOS setup Chapter 3 Be cautious when changing the settings of the Ai T weaker menu items. Incorrect eld values can cause the system to malfunction. The conguration options for this section vary depending on the CPU and DIMM model you installed on the motherboard.

T arget DRAM Speed : xxxxMHz Displays the current DRAM speed. 3.5.1 Ai Overclock T uner [Auto] Allows you to select the CPU overclocking options to achieve the desired CPU internal frequency .

Conguration options: [Auto] [DDR3-1066MHz] [DDR3-1333MHz] [DDR3-1600MHz] [DDR3-1866MHz] Selecting a very high memory frequency may cause the system to become unstable! If this happens, revert to the default setting.
ASUS F1A75-V PRO 3-19 Chapter 3 CPU Offset V oltage [Auto] Allows you to set the CPU Offset voltage. The values range from 0.00625V to 0.500V with a 0.00625V interval. Refer to the CPU documentation before setting the CPU voltage. Setting a high voltage may damage the CPU permanently , and setting a low voltage may make the system unstable.
3-20 Chapter 3: BIOS setup Chapter 3 3.5.14 DIGI+VRM CPU Load Line Calibration [Auto] CPU Load Line Calibration is based on AMD VRM specications and affects CPU voltage.
ASUS F1A75-V PRO 3-21 Chapter 3 VRM Fixed Frequency Mode [xxx] This item appears only when you set the CPU V oltage Frequency item to [Manual] and allows you to set a xed VRM frequency . Use the <+> and <-> keys to adjust the value. The values range from 200k Hz to 400k Hz with a 10k Hz interval.
3-22 Chapter 3: BIOS setup Chapter 3 3.6.1 CPU Conguration The items in this menu show the CPU-related information that the BIOS automatically detects. The items shown in submenu may be different due to the CPU you installed. Be cautious when changing the settings of the Advanced menu items.

If no USB device is detected, the item shows None. Legacy USB Support [Enabled] [Enabled] Enables the support for USB devices on legacy operating systems (OS).

[HD] Sets the front panel audio connector (AAFP) mode to high denition audio.

[Power Off] The system goes into off state after an AC power loss. [Last State] The system goes into either off or on state, whatever the system state was before the AC power loss.

[Standard] Sets to [Standard] to make the CPU fan automatically adjust depending on the CPU temperature.
ASUS F1A75-V PRO 3-29 Chapter 3 Chassis Upper T emperature [70ºC] Use the <+> and <-> keys to adjust the upper limit of the CPU temperature. The values range from 20ºC to 90ºC. Chassis Fan Max. Duty Cycle(%) [100%] Use the <+> and <-> keys to adjust the maximum chassis fan duty cycle.

4-4 Chapter 4: Software support Chapter 4 4.3.2 DIGI+ VRM ASUS DIGI+ VRM allows you to adjust VRM voltage and frequency modulation to enhance reliability and stability . It also provides the highest power efciency , generating less heat to longer component lifespan and minimize power loss.
ASUS F1A75-V PRO 4-5 Chapter 4 CPU Current Capability CPU Current Capability provides wider total power range for overclocking. A higher value setting gets higher VRM power consumption delivery .
