Content s Thank you for purchasing the OMRON M6 Au tomatic Blood Pressure Monitor . The OMRON M6 is a compact, fu lly automatic blood pressur e monitor , operating on the oscillometric principle. It measures your blood pressure and pulse rate simply and quickly .

2 Impor tant Safet y Inform ation (AC Adapter Usage) • Use only the original AC adapter (optional) designed f or this unit. Use of unsupported adapters may damage and/or may be hazardous to the unit. • Plug the AC adapter into the appropriate voltage outlet.

4 2. Prep aration 2.1 Inst alli ng/Replaci ng the Batteries 1. Remove the battery cover . 2. Insert four “AA” batteries as indicated in the battery comp artment and then replace the battery cover . Not es: • If the ba ttery low symb ol ( ) appea rs on the display , turn the unit of f then replace all bat teries at the same time.
5 2. Prep arat ion EN 2.2 Setting the Date and T ime 1. Pr ess th e butt on. 2. Set the monitor to t he correct date and t ime before t aking a measureme nt for the first time. 3. Press the O/I ST ART button to store the setting. Not es: • If the batteries have been removed for 30 seco nds or more, the date and time setting will need to be reset.

7 3. Using the Unit EN 3.2 How to Sit Correctly T o take a meas urement , you need to b e relaxed a nd comfor tably seated, u nder comfor table room temp erature. No b athing, dr inking alcohol or caffeine, smoki ng, exerci sing or eati ng 30 min utes befor e taking a meas urement.

9 3. Using the Unit EN Dual Check System Press the O/I ST ART button, then the Dual Check System lamp lights and the unit sta rts detecting a device error . If the unit is accurate and functioning correctly , the Du al Check System lamp remains lit dur ing the meas urement.
10 3. Using the Unit • Y our blood pr essure monitor includes an irregular heartbeat feature. Irregular heartbeats can influence the results of t he measur ement. The irregular heartbeat algorithm automatically determines if the m easurement is usable or needs to be repeat ed.
11 3. Using the Unit EN 3.4 Using the Memo ry Func tion The m onitor automa tically s tores the r esult up to 9 0 sets. It can also ca lculate an avera ge reading b ased on th e measurem ents from the las t three rea dings taken within 10 minutes .

W ait 2-3 minutes and then t ake another measureme nt. Repeat the steps in section 3.3. If this error continues to appear , contact your doctor .

15 4. Troub leshoot ing a nd Maint enance EN 4.2 T roubles hooting Problem Cause Remedy The reading is extremely low (or high). Arm cuff not applied correctly . Apply the arm cuff correctly . Refer to section 3.1. Movement or talking during measurement.
16 4. Troub leshoot ing a nd Maint enance Nothing happens when you pres s the buttons. The batteries are empty . Replace the batteries with new ones. Refer to section 2.1. The batteries have been inserted incorrectly . Insert the batteries wi th the corr ect (+/-) polarity .
17 4. Troub leshoot ing a nd Maint enance EN 4.3 Maintenance T o protec t your uni t from damage , please o bserve the following: • Do not subject the main unit and the cuf f to extreme te mperatures, humidity , moisture or direct sunlight. • Do not fold the cuff or tubing tightly .

T o disc onnect the AC adapter , unplu g the AC ada pter from th e electric al outlet first and then remove the AC adap ter plug from the main unit.
