3 Thank you for purchasing the Omron HEM-412C Manual Inflation Blood Pressure Monitor . This easy-to-use monitor quickly detects your blood pressure and pulse measurements and displays them on a large, clear digital panel. Y our new HEM-412C uses the oscillometric method of blood pressure measurement.

5 1. A void eating, smoking, and ex ercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. 2. Put your left arm through the cuff loop. The bottom of the cuff should be about 1/2'' abov e the elbow . The cuf f tab should lie ov er the brachial artery on the inside of the arm.
6 1. Slide the battery cov er off in the direction of the arrow . 2. Install 4 “ AA” size batteries so + (positiv e) and – (negativ e) polarities match the polarities of the battery compartment as indicated. 3. Replace the battery cov er . 4. If the Low Battery Indicator appears on the display , replace all four batteries.
7 HOW TO APPL Y THE ARM CUFF 1. Locate your brachial artery by pressing two f ingers approximately one inch abov e the elbow crease on the inside of the left arm. Determine where your pulse is strongest. 2. The cuff should be assembled correctly when it is remov ed from the box.
8 HOW TO APPL Y THE ARM CUFF 5. Pull the cuff so that the top and bottom edges are tightened ev enly around your arm. 6. When the cuff is positioned correctly , press the sewn hook material FIRML Y against the pile side of the cuff. 7. Make certain the cuf f fits snugly around your arm.
9 HOW TO T AKE A READING 1. Press the On/Off b utton. a) All display symbols appear for about one second. This is the initial LCD T est. b) The display symbols disappear and the Deflation Indication Symbol ( ) starts to flash.
6. When the Deflation Indication Symbol ( ) appears on the display , push the air release button to release any air left in the cuf f. NO TE: W ait 5-10 minutes before taking another blood pressure measurement. W aiting allows the engorged blood v essels to return to normal.
11 To pr otect your monitor from damage, please do the f ollowing: • Do not subject your monitor to extreme temperatures, humidity , and direct sunlight. • Do not fold the cuff and tubing tightly . • Do not inflate the monitor ov er 280 mmHg. • Do not disassemble the monitor .
