3 1. Introduction The SAM3G is a com pact, light-weight, UMT S based m odem. It provides GSM, GPRS, EDGE and WCDMA connectivit y. - GSM, GPRS, EDG E : 850MHz, 900MHz, 1800MH z, 1900MHz - UMTS, W CDMA/HSDPA : 850MHz, 1900MH z, 2100MHz The SAM3G is designed fo r both mobile a nd fixed M2 M applications.

7 6. Functionalit y a. General The SAM3G m odem consists of an RJ45 connector for ser ial port and input power, a m iniB USB connector, an SMB Jack antenna connector a nd a SIM holder. The LED indicator, located on top, indicates the SAM operatin g status.

13 8. Operation The SAM3G can support either the USB por t or the S erial RS232 port. The port configuration is done at the point of sale. Do not oper ate these 2 ports at the same time ! 8.
