Chapter 1: Knowing the Parts 1-6 Battery Lock - Manual The manual battery lock is used to keep the battery pack secured. Move the manual lock to the unlocked position to insert or remove the ba ttery pack. Move the manual lock to the locked position after inser ting the battery pack.
ASUS Eee PC 1-7 Battery Lock - Spring The spring battery lock keeps the batter y pack secure. When the battery pack is inser ted , it will automatically lock. When removing the battery pack, this spring lock must be retained in the unlocked position. Memory Compartment The memory module is secured in a dedicated compartment.

Po wer supplied through this jack supplies power to the Eee PC and char ges the internal batter y pack. T o prevent damage t o the Eee PC and battery pack, always use the supplied power adapter .

Chapter 3: Using the Eee PC 3-2 ASUS Update The ASUS Update is a utility that allows y ou to manage, sav e, and update the Eee PC BIOS in Windows® environment.

Chapter 3: Using the Eee PC 3-4 Bluetooth Connection (on selected models) This device contains FC C ID: QDS-BRCM1043 and IC ID: 4324A-BRCM1043. Bluetooth technology eliminates the need f or cables for connecting Bluetooth-enabled devices. Examples of Bluetooth-enabled devices ma y be Notebook PCs, Desktop PCs, mobile phones, and PDAs.

Slide upward the function switch to show all hidden functions. 2. Rotate the function list leftward or rightward to select the function you need.

Chapter 4: Suppor t DVD & System Recov er y 4-2 Support DVD information The support DVD that comes with the Eee PC package contains the drivers, software applications, and utilities that you can install to av ail all the features . Running the suppor t DVD Insert the suppor t DVD in the ex ternal optical drive.
