P ower Switch The power swit ch allows pow ering ON and OFF the Eee PC and recov ering from STR. Press the switch once t o tur n ON and hold it to turn OFF the Eee PC.

3-2 Chapter 3: Getting Star ted Power System Using A C P ower The Eee PC pow er comprises two par ts, the power adapter and the battery power system. T he power adapter con ver ts AC power from a wall outlet to the DC pow er required by the Eee PC.

3-4 Chapter 3: Getting Star ted Using Ba ttery Po wer The Eee PC is designed to w or k with a remov able batter y pack. The battery pack consists of a set of battery cells housed together . A fully charged pack will pro vide several hours of batt er y life.

3-6 Chapter 3: Getting Star ted Super Hybrid Engine Super Hybrid Engine offers differ ent power modes. The assigned instant key toggles power sa vings between various power sa ving modes. The power sa ving modes control many aspects of your Eee PC to maximize performance versus battery time.
ASUS Eee PC 3-7 Emergency Shutdown & Reset In case your operating syst em cannot properly tur n OFF or restart, there are additional wa ys to shutdown and reset your E ee PC: Shutdown: Hold the power button until the system shuts down.
3-8 Chapter 3: Getting Star ted Touchpad Usage Single-finger gesture input Clicking/T apping - With the point er over an item, press the left button or use your fingertip to touch the touchpad lightly , keeping your finger on the touchpad until the it em is selec ted.
ASUS Eee PC 3-9 Dragging - Dragging means to pick up an it em and place it anywhere on the screen y ou wish. Y ou can move the point er over the item you select, and while keeping the left button depressed, moving the pointer t o the desired location, then release the button.
