SMART -V1/SMART -V1G ANTENNA™ This guide prov ides the basic information you need to set up and begin using your new SMART -V1 or SMART -V1G . For more deta iled information on the installation and operation o f your receiver , please refer to the OEMV user manuals.
EST ABLISHING RECEIVER COMMUNICATION T o open a serial port to communicate with the rece iver , complete the following. 1. Launc h CDU from the Sta r t menu folder specified dur ing the installation process . The default location is St art | Programs | NovAtel OEMV | OEMV PC Software .
DETERMINING WHEN THE POSITION IS V ALID When the rece iver has a v alid position, th e Solution Status field in CDU ’s Position window shows Computed. ENTERING COMMANDS The SMAR T -V1/V1G uses a comprehensive command interface. Commands can be sent to the receiver using the Console window in CDU , which is opened from the Vie w menu.
REAL-TIME KINEMATIC (RTK) POSITIONING Corrections can be transmitted from a base st ation to a rover station to impro ve position accuracy . The base station is the GNSS receiver which is acting as the stationary reference. It ha s a known positi on and transmits correc tion messag es to the rover station.
