2 Before Y ou Be gin The physica l requir ements for ins talling t he Passport 8010 Chassi s in an equipme nt rack ar e: For table or shelf installat ion, make sur e the surfac e will su pport at lea st 225 pound s (101 kil ograms).

4 Atta ching t he Rack- Moun ting Br ackets Requir ed tool: Ph illips s crewdriver 1. Hold eac h rack-mount ing brack et agains t one side of the chass is. Make sur e the attachment holes in the brack et match th e holes in t he chassi s. 2. Insert th e suppli ed fla t- hea d screws to f asten each br acket to t he chassi s.
5 Inst allin g t he Chas si s in a Rac k Requir ed tool: Ph illips s crewdriver 1. Slide the chassis i nto the r ack. 2. Insert and tigh ten the r ack-mount ing scre ws. T o complete the i nstallati on process , refer t o “ Inst alling t he Power Suppl y .
6 Installing the Power Supply Requir ed tool: Ph illips s crewdriver 1. If necess ary , remove the filler panel fr om a power supply bay . 2. If you wait longer to tu rn on the second powe r supply , both power sup pli es will turn of f.

9 Installing a Module For detai ls about t he operat ion of modul es, refer to the doc umentatio n that was s hipped with ea ch module. Requir ed tool: Ph illips s crewdriver 1. Remove a fil ler panel from a module sl ot. 2. Make s ure the in serter/ extract or levers ar e rotat ed away from t he front of the module.
