Connecting t he components 28 Before you begin Connecting the components of the phone CA UTION Damage to Equipment Do not plug your IP Phone 1120E into a regular phone jack. This results in severe damage to the IP Phone. Consult your system administ rator to ensure that you plug your phone into a 10/1 00/1000BaseT Ethernet jack.
Connecting the components 29 Figure 5: Release the IP Phone 1120E from the stand Use the following steps to connect the components of your ph one. 1. Remove t he stand co ver. Pull upward on the cent er catch as indicated in Figure 6 on page 30, and remove the stand cover.
Connecting t he components 30 Figure 6: Remove the stand cover 2. Connect the AC power adap ter (opt ional). Connect the ada pter to the AC adapter jack in the bo ttom of the ph one. Form a small be nd in the cable, and then thread the adapter cord through th e channels in the stand.

Note 2: Y ou must use CA T -5e (or later) cables if you want to use gigabit Ethernet. 3. Install the han dset. Conne ct the end of the han dset cable w ith the short straight section into the handset.

Connecting the components 33 Method B: Attach the 15-cm (6-inch) CAT5 e cable, position the stand over the mounting rivets, and slide the phon e down the wall so that the rivets fit into the slots on th e stand, indicated in Figure 7 on page 32 (Method B).

The default configur ation is On. To configure new call indication , press the Services key, select Telephone Options , and select Ca ll Log Option .

When configured network-wide, Call Park can be used across networks. A System Park extension can be configured to auto matically park most calls.
