3 T O MAINT AIN Y OUR HEA T PUMP— CA UTION: Be certain the electrical power to the outdoor unit and the furnace/air handler is disconnected before doing the follo wing recommended maintenance.
4 Read Y our W arranty Please read the separate w arranty document completely . It contains v aluable inf ormation about your system. GENERAL INFORMA TION Read the f ollowing instructions completely before perf or ming the installation. Outdoor Unit Section — Each outdoor unit is shipped with a refrigerant holding charge.
5 The maximum recommended interconnecting refrigerant line length is 75 f eet, and the v er tical elev ation diff erence between the indoor and outdoor sections should not e xceed 20 f eet. Consult long line application guide for installations in e xcess of these limits.
6 Electrical P ower Wiring — Electr ical po wer wiring must comply with the current provisions of the “National Electrical Code” (ANSI/NFP A 70) and with applicable local codes ha ving jurisdiction.
7 GR W 2 CE O Y Thermostat R Air Handler Heat Pump OD Section T ypical Heat Pump with Standar d Air Handler O NO TE: Jumper between W2 and E is required when no OD T -Stat is used.
8 Indoor Blower — Set the thermostat function s witch to COOLING and the fan s witch to ON. V erify that the indoor blo wer is operating and that airfl ow is not restricted. Set the f an s witch back to A UT O . Low-Pressure Switc h — A low-pressure s witch is f actor y-installed (see attached).
9 2. Jumper the “T2”-”DFT” test pins. This will indicate to the board that the defrost T -stat is closed(if the compressor is running). Defrost T -stat is closed at 32° or below and is open at 68° or abov e. But it’ s state is unknown if the temper ature is between 32°F and 68°F .
