Your Nokia N80 10 Your Nokia N80 Model number: Nokia N80-1 Hereinafter referred to as Nokia N80. Software updates Nokia may produce software updates that may offer new features, enhanced functions, or improved performance. You may be able to request these updates through the Nokia Software Updater PC application.
Your Nokia N80 11 Transfer content from another device You can transfer c ontent, such as co ntacts, from a compatible Nokia device to your Nokia N80 using Bluetooth connectivity or infr ared. The type of content that can be transferred depend s on the phone model.
Your Nokia N80 12 The device is being used in a UMTS network (network service). You have one or more unread messages in the Inbox folder in Messag. . You have received new e-mail in the remote mailbox. There are messages waiting to be sent in the Outbox folder.
Your Nokia N80 13 Keypad lock (keyguard) To lock the keys, close the sliding keypad, and select Yes when Lock keypad? is displayed. To lock the keys when the slide is closed, press the power k ey, and select Lock keypad . To unlock, open the sliding keypad, or press ( Unlock ), and select OK when Unlock keypad? is displayed.

Your Nokia N80 17 Your device notifies you if another device attempts to connect to it and the home network. Do not accept connection requests from an unknown device. If you use wireless LAN in a network that doe s not have encryption, switch off sh aring Nokia N80 files t o other devices, or do not share any private media files.
Your Nokia N80 18 4 Remove the memory card. If the device is switched on, select OK . Important: Do not r emove the memory card in the middle of an operation when the card is being accessed. Removing the card in the mi ddle of an operation may damage the m emory card a s well as the de vice, and d ata stored on the card may be corrupted.
Your Nokia N80 19 View memory consumption To view what types of dat a you have in the device and how much memory the different data types consume, select Options > Memory details . The amount of available free memory is shown in Free memory . Memory low—free memory The device notifies you if the device or the memory card memory is low.

Messaging 50 E-mail —to send an e-mail If you have not set up your e-mail account, you are prompted to do so. To start creating the e-mail settings with the mailbox guide, select Start . 2 In the To field, press to select recipients or groups from contacts, or enter the recipient’s phone number or e-mail address.

In the navigation bar, you can see the message length indicator counting backwards. For example, 10 (2) means that you can still add 10 characters for th e text to be sent as two messages.

Tools 10 3 Predictive text —Set the predictive text input On or Off for all editors in the device. The pr edictive text dictionary is not available for all languages. Welcome note / logo —The welcome note or logo is displayed briefly each time you s witch on the device.
Tools 10 4 Call waiting —If you have activated call waiting (network service), the network notifies you of a new incoming call while you have a call in prog ress. Set the function on ( Activate ) or off ( Cancel ), or check whether the function is activated ( Check status ).
Tools 10 5 points can share a data connec tion. In the UMTS network, data connections remain active during voice calls. You can also u se a wireless LAN data connection. See ‘Wireless LAN’, p. 14. Only one connection in one wireless LAN can be active at a time.

In the certificate management main view, you can see a list of authority certific ates th at are stored in y our device. Press to see a list of person al certificates, if available.

Troubleshooting: Q&A 11 7 Troubleshooting: Q&A Access codes Q: What is my password for the lock, PIN, or PUK codes? A: The default lock code is 12345 . If you forget or lose the lock code, contact your device dealer. If you forget or lose a PIN or PUK code, or if you have not received such a code, contact your network operator.
