Your Nokia N72 12 Your Nokia N72 Model number: Nokia N72-5 Hereinafter referred to as Nokia N72. Help Your device has context-sensitive help. You can access the help from an application or from the main menu. When an application is open, to access he lp for the current view, select Options > Help .

Your Nokia N72 15 To set your current city, scroll to a city, and select Options > My current city . The city is displayed in the clock main view, and the time in your device is changed according to the city selected. Check that the time is correct and matches your time zone.
Your Nokia N72 16 View memory consumption To view what types of data you have in the device and how much memory the different data types consume, select Options > Memory details > Phone memory . Scroll down to Free memory to view the amount of free memory in the device.
Your Nokia N72 17 Keep all memory cards out of the reach of small children. Press , and select Tools > Memory . You can use a compatible memory card as extra storage space. It is also good to regularly back up the information in the device memory to a memory card.
Personalise your device 18 Personalise your device Your service provider may have requested that certain features be disabled or not activated in your device. If so, they will not appear on your device menu. Your device may also have been specially configured for your network provider.
Personalise your device 19 Profiles—set tones To set and customise the ringing tones, message alert tones, and other tones for different events, environments, or caller groups, press , and select Tools > Profiles .
Personalise your device 20 Transfer content from another device You can copy contacts, calendar, images, video, and sound clips using Bluetooth connectivity, from a compatible Nokia Series 60 device. You can use your Nokia N7 2 without a SIM card. The offline profile is automatically activated when the device is switched on without a SIM card.
Personalise your device 21 To open a browser connection and download mo re themes, select Theme downloads . To activate a theme, scroll to it, and select Options > Apply .
Make calls 22 Make calls Calls Tip! To increase or decrease the volume during a call, press or . If you have set the volume to Mute , you cannot adjust the volume with the scroll key. To adjust the volume, select Unmute , and press or . 1 In the standby mode, enter the phone number, including the area code.
Make calls 23 The device supports conference calls between a maximum of six participants , including yourself. To have a private conversation with one of th e participants, select Options > Conference > Private . Select a participant, and select Private .
Make calls 24 3 The device plays a synthesized voice tag for the recognized contact in the select ed device langua ge, and displays the name and number. After a time-out of 1.5 seconds, the device dials the number. If the recog nized cont act was not correct, select Next to view a list of other matches, or Quit to cancel voice dialing.

Make calls 26 Packet data To check the amount of data sent and received during packet data connections, press , and select My own > Log > Packet data . For example, you may be c harged for your packet data connections by the amount of data sent and received.

Contacts (Phonebook) 28 Contacts (Phonebook) Press , and select Contacts . In Contacts you can add a personal ringing tone or a thumbnail ima ge to a contact card. You can also create co ntact groups, which allow you to send text messages or e-ma il to many recipients at the same time.

Add ringing tones for contacts When a contact or group member calls you, the device plays the chosen ringing tone (if the caller’s telephone number is sent with the call and your device recog nises it).
Camera and Gallery 31 Camera and Gallery Camera Your Nokia N72 has a h igh resolution camera on the back of the device that can be used to take still images and videos. To activate the camera, open the camera lens cove r on the back of the device. The Camera application starts when the camera is acti vated, and you can see the view to be captured.
Camera and Gallery 32 • The flash in dicator (4) shows if the flash is set to Automatic () , On/ forced () , o r Off () . • The resolution indicator (5) shows the selected image quality.
