Search key Search the web Press . Insert th e SIM ca rd This device is designed to be used with a mi ni-UICC SIM card, also known as a micro- SIM card only. A micro-SIM card is smaller than the standard SIM card. Use of incompatible SIM cards may damage th e card or the device, and m ay corrupt data stored on the card.

3 Pull the card out. Charge your phone About the battery Use only Nokia approved chargers desi gnat ed for this phone. You can also use a compatible USB cable to charge your phone (included). You can set your phone to automatically save power when the battery charge level is low.
If your phone is off when you start to char ge the phone, it automatically switches on. Make sure you use a compatible USB ch arger to charge y our phone.
To avoid breaking th e USB cable connecto r, be careful when connecting or disconnecting the charger cable. Charge from a com puter You can use USB charging when a wall outlet is not available .
2 When the battery is full, first unplug th e USB cable f rom your phone, then from the computer. If the battery is completel y discharged, it may take se veral minutes be fore the charging indicator is displayed or before any call s can be made.

To create a Windows Live ID, you need an internet connection. Fo r info about possible data costs, contact your network service provider. To create a Nokia account late r, go to account.nokia.com. Copy contacts from your old phone Have your nearest and dearest instantly at y our fingertips. Use the Contacts Transfer app to easily copy your contacts from your old phone. Your old phone needs to have Bluetooth, an d the contacts need to be stored in the phone memory, not on the SIM.

Do not connect products that create an outp ut signal, as this may damage the device. Do not connect any voltage source to the audio connector. If you connect an external device or headset, other than those appro ved by Nokia for use with this de vice, to the audio connector, pay speci al attention to volume levels.
If you type in the code i ncorrectly three times in a row, y ou need to unblock the code with the PUK code. PUK code (8 digits) This is required to unblock a PIN code. If not supplied with your SIM, contact your service provider. IMEI number (15 digits) This is used to identify valid phones in the network.

Add more writing la nguages You can add several writing languages for your keyboard and switch between the languages when writing. Search inside an app 1 In an app, such as Marketplace, select . 2 Write your search word in the search box, then select . You can also select from the proposed matches. Use vision search 1P r e s s . 2S e l e c t , then scan text, QR codes, or barcodes.
An app or service is using your location info. Silent mo de is swit ched on. Flight m ode is s witched on. Vibrate mode is switched on. Battery power level Battery saver mode is switched on. The battery is charging. The icons may vary depending on your region or network s ervice provider.

Contacts & social networking services Contacts About the People hub You can save and organise your friends' phone numbers, addresses, and other contact information in the People hub. You can also get in touch wi th your friends through social networking services.
Save a number from a received call or message Have you received a ca ll or message f rom a person whose phone number is not yet saved in the People hub? You can easily save the number in a new or existing contact list entry. Save a number from a call 1 On the start screen, select .
Tip: Pin your most important contacts or co ntact groups to the start screen. Select and hold a contact, then sel ect pin to Start . Create, edit, or delete a contact group When you have created contact groups, you can send a message to several people at the same time.
Link two or more contacts 1 Select the main contact you want to link to, and select . 2S e l e c t choose a contact and the contact to be linked. Unlink a contact 1 Select the main contact and .
See your friends' status updates After you set up social networking services on your phone, you can follow your friends' status updates in the People hub. Select People , and swipe to what's new . Post your status If you feel like reaching out to your friend s, let them know what's on your mind.

Manually add a mobile data access point 1 Select mobile network > add AP N . 2 Write the APN address in the APN field. 3 Type in the username and password for your mobile data account. 4 If the APN uses a proxy server, writ e the address and port number in the appropriate fields.

Browse the web Select . Tip: If you do not have a flat-rate data plan from your network service provider, to save data costs in your phone bill, you can use a Wi-Fi network to connect to the internet. Go to a website Write a web address in the address bar, then select .
Add a website to your favourites If you visit the same website s all the time, add them to your favourites, so yo u can easily access them. Select . While browsing, sel ect > add to favourites . Go to a favourite webs ite Select > favourites and a website.
Send a message With text and multimedia messages, you ca n quickly contact your friends and family. In a multimedia message, you can attach your pictures. Select . 1 Select . 2 Select to add a recipie nt from your contacts l ist, or type in the phone number.
You need a Windows Live account to chat. Before starting to chat, set up a chat service. Swipe left to online , then follow the instructions shown on the phone. 1 Sign in to a chat service, if not signe d in already. 2 In the People hub, select the contact you want to chat with.
2 Enter your username and password in the appropriate fields. 3 Select sign in . Delete a mailbox Select and hold the mailbox, and se lect delete . View several mailb oxes in a unified inbox If you have more than one mail account, you can choose which inboxes you want to link together in a unified inbox.
Open an attachment Select the attachment. If the attachment has not already been downlo aded to your phone, s elect the att achment , then s elect it again wh en it ha s downlo aded. Save an attachme nt Open the attachment, then select > sa ve to phone .

Tip: To quickly zoom in or zoom ba ck out, tap the picture twice. View the available options Tap and hold the picture. Pictures can be sent to you i n a mail or multimedia message.
View your favourites Swipe to favour ites . Upload pic tures and vi deos to the web Want to upload your pictures and videos to a social networking service for your friends and family to see? You can do that dire ctly from the Pictures hub. 1 Select Pictures .
You cannot delete online albums from your phone. Copy your pictures between your phone and PC Have you taken pictures with your phone th at you want to copy to your PC? Connect a compatible headse t, then select and radio . The headset acts as an antenna. Go to the next or previous station Swipe left or right. Tip: If you use a shorter swiping motion, you ca n skip to stations that have a stronger signal.

Find gigs With Nokia Music, you can find out about artists playing near where you are . Select Nokia Music > gigs . When you use the service for the first time, you have to al low it to use your l ocation information. This service may not be available i n all countries or regions.
Tip: Download music directly on your phone f r om Zune Marketplace. You can also use your compatible computer to browse, for example, music and videos in Zune , and copy the items to your phone. The Zune Mu si c service is not avai lable in all regions.
6 When the download is complete, you can open or view the item, or continue browsing for more content. The content type determines where the item is stored in your phone: music, videos, and podcas ts can be found in the Music+Videos hub, games can be found in the Games hub, an d apps can be found in the apps menu.
4 To buy an app, select buy , and select whether to pay with a credit card or, if available, on your phone bill. Play a game Gaming on your phone is a truly social experience. Xbox LIVE, Microsoft's gaming service, lets you play games with your friends and use your gamer profile to keep track of game scores and achievements.
GPS The global positioning system (GPS) is a navi gation system that uses satellites to work out where you are. A-GPS The Assisted GPS (A-GPS) network servi ce retrieves locatio n information using the cellular network, and assists GPS in calculating your current location.
• Share your location Some services may not be available in all countries, and may be provided only in selected languages. The services may be network dependent. For more information, contact your network service provider. Using serv ices or downlo ading co ntent may cause transfer of large amounts of data, which may result in data traffic costs.

Tip: By default, Nokia Drive shows prominent buil dings and attractions on the map. If you don't want to see them , select > Settings , then switch Landmarks to OFF . Get speed limit wa rnings Don't let your speed drif t above the limit – set your phone to warn you when you're driving too fast.
