ASUS Eee PC v Safety Precautions The following saf et y precautions will increase the life of the E ee PC. Follow all precautions and instructions. Except as described in this manual, refer all servicing to qualified personnel. Do not use damaged power cords , accessories, or other peripherals.

ASUS Eee PC vii Charging Y our Batteries If you intend to use batt ery power , be sure to fully charge your ba ttery pack before going on long trips. Remember that the power adapter charges the battery pack as long as it is plugged into the computer and an AC pow er source.

ASUS Eee PC 1-5 The bottom of the Eee PC can get v ery hot. Be careful when handling the Eee PC while it is in operation or recen tly been in operation. High temperatures are normal during charging or operation. DO NOT USE ON SOFT SURF A CES SUCH AS SOF AS OR BEDS, WHICH MA Y BLOCK THE VENTS.

Some applications would form minimized ic ons in the Notification area. The actual Desktop screen may vary according to diff erent models.

When connecting, you may ha ve to enter a password . 4. After a connection has been established, the connection is shown on the list.

Chapter 3: Using the Eee PC 3-6 Super Hybrid Engine Super Hybrid Engine offers differen t power modes. The assigned instant key toggles power sa vings between various power sa ving modes. The power sa ving modes control many aspects of your E ee PC to maximize performance v ersus ba ttery time.
ASUS Eee PC 3-7 Eee Docking Eee Docking contains multiple useful applications. The Eee Docking tool bar is at the top of the desktop . Acc ess ASUS @Vibe ASUS @Vibe allows you to enjoy online ent ertainment contents including Radio, Live T V and G ames, etc.
Chapter 3: Using the Eee PC 3-8 Sharing Y ouCam / E-Cam Y ouCam / E-Cam provides interesting eff ec ts and useful add-ons for your webcam. Syncables The syncables desktop application makes it easier than ever to keep all your photos , music, videos, documents, bookmar ks, and more in sync and up to date across all y our computers.
ASUS Eee PC 3-9 Boingo (on selected models) Boingo gives you easy access t o global W i-F i services with a special price via the Boingo utility . Use one account at more than 100,000 hotspots around the world , including airpor ts, hotels, cafes and restaurants.
Chapter 3: Using the Eee PC 3-10 Microsoft ® Ofce Trial (on selected models) Microsoft® O ffice Starter is installed on some models instead of Microsoft® O ffice T rial. Eee PC users can enjoy Microsoft Office Suite free trial for 60 days . Do the following instructions to start the free trial.

Chapter 4: System Recov ery 4-2 System Recovery Disable Boot Booster in BIOS setup before you perform system recov ery from USB flash disk, external optical drive or hidden partition. Ensure to connect your Eee PC to the A C power adapter before using F9 recov ery to avoid reco very failure.

Press <ESC> on bootup and the Please select boot device screen appears. Select USB: XXXX XX to boot from the connected USB storage device .
