1 THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING AN ASTROSTART REMOTE CAR STARTER! Like you, Astroflex is concerned with the environment. This is why we suggest using the two minute runtime when you remote start your vehicle to warm up engine fluids.
2 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Before using this product, carefully read the following safet y precautions. • Immediately report any malfunction to t he AstroS tart dealer that performed the installation. • Under no circumstance can this product or its use be modified.
3 THE REMOTE CONTROL Your remote control has been designed to fit the nat ural contours of your hand so that it is easier to use. Your remote control can transmit on two different c hannels, allowing control of two separat e vehicles. See below for more details.

7 ENGINE RUNTIME Your engine will stop automatically after a preset runtime (set dur ing the installation). Pa rking lights will stay on as long as the engine is running. T RIGGER INPUT Your remote starter is equipped with a negative trigger (pulse) input.
8 LOW TEMPERATURE MODE In Low Temperature (Sentinel) mode, system start s your engine automatically when the temperatur e falls below a preset level. Engine will run for programmed runtim e, after which the system will wa it 2½ hours and then start the engine again if temperature is st ill below preset level.
9 ALARM MODES WARNING Warning signal is 7 siren chirps. If a two-level shock sensor is connected t o system, warni ng sounds every time vehicle is subjected to a light shock when the alarm is armed. The remote will also show you the violation by the small hammer icon.

11 CONFIRMATION When the alarm is armed, one chirp of the siren and/or fl ash of the parki ng lights means that all protection zones are in normal condition and system is r eady. and ARM icons will be shown on your remote with a soft chirp. Three chirps or flashes means that one or more zones ar e in violation (i.
12 SECONDARY FUNCTIONS ANTI-LOCK When connected to ignition key cylinder, this function prevent s system from locking the doors during automatic rearming if key is in the ignition. It can also be connected to a switch to select aut omatic locking as ACTIVE or INACTIVE.
13 P ARKING LIGHTS Parking lights flash intermittently (repeated f l ashes) during a pre-alar m and alarm condition. Parking lights also confirm that commands have been received. See table in CONFIRMATION section. V IOLATION Violation means a situation that c auses a protect ion zone to generate an al arm condition; example: a door was opened, etc.
14 TRUNK RELEASE Press and buttons simultaneously. Trunk releases and par king lights flash three times to confirm command has been received. Trunk cannot be released if key is in ON position. In this case, lights flash once to confirm command has been received and that trunk could not be released.
15 V ALET MODE Valet mode allows you to disarm antitheft system whenever your vehicle is left with someone else, for servicing for example. With a 5204, the alarm and the antitheft valet mode are combined. See the instructions in the alarm valet mode part of that guide in page 12.
16 SAFETY CHECKS In order to maintain a high safety standard, proceed with t he following checks every month. HOOD SWITCH • Remote start your vehicle. • Open hood. Engine should stop as soon as hood is opened. If engine does not stop immediately, turn main switch to OFF position and leave it off u ntil situatio n is rectified.
