W elcome t o Nike + iP od Y our P ersonal W orkout Assistant Nike + iP od is a workout par tner and coach all in one . Selec t the type of workout you want—open-ended , distance, time , or calorie-burning—choose music to keep you motivat ed , and then keep track of your progre ss every step of the way with spoken and onscreen feedback.
Quick Star t F ollow these instructions to get star ted using Nike + iP od right awa y . Step 1: Enable Nik e + iP od on your iP od . iP o d nano: m Attach the Nike + iP od receiver to iP od nano . Nike + iP od app ears as an option on the main menu. iP o d touch: m Choose Settings > Nike + i P od and set it to On.
Step 3: Insert the Nike + iP od Sensor in your Nike+ ready shoe . Lift the insole of the lef t shoe , remov e the foam insert from the pocket under neath, m and replace it with the sensor . Lift the insole and place the sensor in the pocket , flat side up.
Step 4: Choose a type of w orkout. T o choose Do this An open-ended workout iP od nano: Choose Nik e + iP od > New W ork out > Basic. iP od touch: Choose Nike + i P od > Basic. A workout with a time goal iP od nano: Choose Nik e + iP od > New W ork out > Time.
Step 5: Choose music t o accompan y your w orkout. T o play Do this A Nike+ W orkout mix Choose the mix (see page 1 8). The curren tly playing song Choose Now Pla ying. Songs from a playlist Choose Playlists and choose a pla ylist. Songs in random order Choose Shue Songs.
Step 7: Monit or your progr ess. Nike + iP od aut omatically displa ys your w orkout status on the iP od screen. iP od nano iP od touch P eriodically , Nike + iP od also gives y ou spoken feedback on y our progress (see “Getting Spoken F eedback ” on page 1 4).
T o end your workout: iP o d nano: m P ress the Pla y/P ause ( ’ ) button t o pause y our workout. Then press the Menu button and choose End W or kout. iP o d touch: m P ress End W orkout. I f iP od touch is locked, pre ss the Home button and tap P ause.
When your iP od isn ’t connected to your c omputer , you can go t o www .nikeplus.com and enter y our Login ID and passw ord. See the nikeplus.com websit e for Nike ’ s privacy polic y and terms and conditions . Using Nike + iP od F ollow these instructions to get the most out of Nike + i P od.
5 iP od nano: Pre ss the Menu button and choose Done Calibrating . iP o d touch: T ap End W orkout, and tap D one. A message tells y ou if the calibration was succe ssful. 6 Repeat steps 1–4, choosing W alk in step 2 and walking at a steady , natural pace in step 4.
Setting the Units of Distance Y ou can set Nik e + iP od to measure your w orkouts in either miles or kilometers. T o set the units of distance: iP o d nano: m Choose Nike + iP od > Settings, and set Distances t o Miles or Kilometers. iP o d touch: m Choose Settings > Nike + iP od > Distances , then choose Miles or Kilometers.
T o set the voice type or turn spoken f eedback o : iP o d nano: m Choose Nike + iP od > Settings and set Spoken F eedback to Male , F emale, or O . iP o d touch: m Choose Settings > Nike + i P od > Spoken F eedback, then choose Male, F emale, or O .
P ausing a W orkout Y ou can pause your workout at an y time, temporarily stopping music and data collection, and resume the workout later without losing an y data. T o pause or resume a w orkout: iP o d nano: m P ress the Pla y/P ause ( ’ ) button.
T o review recen t workouts on your iP od: iP o d nano: m Choose Nike + iP od > History . iP o d touch: m Choose Nike + iP od , then tap History at the bottom of the screen. T o erase a single workout session: 1 Choose Nike + iP od > Histor y and choose a workout session.
1 8 T o choose a custom workout shortcut on your iP od: iP o d nano: m Choose Nike + iP od and choose a shor tcut. Shortcuts are named according to the type of workout and music. They can ’t be deleted . iP o d touch: m Choose Nike + iP od and tap My W orkouts.
19 T o link to a remote: 1 Connect the receiv er to an iP od nano . 2 Choose Nike + iP od > S ettings > Remote > Link, and follow the onscr een instructions. T o turn remote functionality on or o for iP od nano: Choose Nike + iP od > Settings > Remote , and set Remote to On or O .
20 3 iP od nano: Choose Nike + i P od > Settings > Sensor > Link and follow the onscreen instructions. A message says iP od is now linked to the new sensor . iP o d touch: Choose Settings > Nike + i P od > Sensor , tap Link New , and follo w the onscreen instructions.
