1 Introduction The NTI ST-nXm-U-HD (als o known as NODEMUX-HD) is a multi- user / Univ ersal Multi-Platform Matrix KVM switch, (n= number of users, m= number of CPUs) with high dens it y construction to require less rack space.
2 Interface cables and adapters are not included and must be purchased separately . A cable for each CPU being connected to the switch: PS/2 CPU to Switch • VMTINT-xx-MM for video, ke yboard and mou.
3 Additional Features • Users can work individually or share the sam e CPU. • Up to n users can work with m CPUs where n and m are the switch size acquired. • High density (similar to SCSI) input an d output ports that inte rface cables plug into adapt to PS/2 and SUN platform devices.
4 Installation Turn OFF power to all CPUs that will be conne cted to the NTI ST-nXm-U-HD switch before connecting or disconnectin g any cables. 1. If using RS-232 Control see RS-232 section for more information.

Turn ON power to any or all CPUs connecte d to the NTI Switch. NOTE: The order in which the CPUs and switch are tu rn ed ON does not matter.
6 Using the ST-nXm-U-H D Switch Basic Operation This unit enables any user to access a ny CPU at any time with no restrictions or limitatio ns. Users can even share a CPU and work on the same project – each from their own conso le. Reso lution is sup ported through 1900x12 00 with no degradation – guaranteed.
7 OSD Control OSD superimposes a menu system on the user ’s video screen with a list of all connected CPUs. OSD allows CPUs to be named (with up to 12 character names). OSD then allo ws selection of CPUs b y that name. Connected CP Us can be listed b y name or by port number.
8 User Login Mode User Login Mode requires a user to l ogi n with a user name and pas s word from the list created by the administrator. With securi ty enabled, the user will be locked to the current CPU an d the logi n screen will remain on the monitor unti l the user logs in.

11 User Access Functions Command Mode In order to control the switch with the keyboard, Command Mode must be enabl ed. T o enable Command Mode from the keybo ard: Press All the status lights on the keyboard w ill illuminate to indic ate that Command Mode is enabled.

13 Edit Mode To activate Edit Mode press <Ctrl> + <E> from the Command Mode menu. Edit Mode allows only the administrator to modify the names of the CPUs connected to the switch. Names of CPUs can b e up to 12 characters in length. Characters t yped can be upper or lo wer case.

Save OSD window parameters for the port Return to Command Mode NOTE: Based on different scan rates, the OSD window may appear in different area s of the monitor as d ifferent CPU ports are selected.

17 RS232 Control Remote Connection The RS232 Interface is designed to control t he s witch via serial (RS232) daisy chain co n nection from any CPU or other controlle r with an RS232 communications port.

20 Matrix Switcher's Control Progr am For Windows 9X, NT, and 2000 The Matrix Switcher's Control Pro gram is an easy and po werful gr aphical program that controls NT I matrix switches through an RS232 interface. The Matrix Switcher ' s Control Program is on a 3-1/4" floppy disc pack aged with the ST -nXm-U-HD switch.
21 ST- MX Expansion Units In order to be able to expand the current ST -nXm-U-HD product or go beyond the 8/16 CPU limit on the ST-nXm-U-HD, the ST- MX expansion unit can be us ed to combine, or bank, multiple sw itches together to be controll ed from one central workstation.
