1 Introduction The SM-nXm-AV-LCD Audio/Video Matrix s witch (VEEMUX-A) allows up to 32 audio/video sources (n) to be connecte d to up to 16 destinations (m). Different desti nations can even be con nected to the same source. Video resolution up to 1920x1200@85Hz is supported with no degradatio n – guaran teed.
2 Ordering Information The SM-nXm-AV-LCD Audio/Video Matrix s witch (VEEMUX-A) can be ordered in many sizes and with several control options . The base unit includes a user k eypad and an RS232 port to make up a c omplete system, with an option for an infrared control.
3 Features and Functions 1. LCD Display- for visual indication of conn ection between the user and a sp ecific CPU. 2. Keypad- buttons for user control over s witch functions 3. Audio IN- for connection of audio cables from audi o sources 4. Audio OUT- for connection of audio cables to a udio output devices (speakers) 5.
4 Installation 1. Turn OFF power to all video sources (inputs) that will be connected to the VEEMUX-A before connecti ng or disconnecting any cables. 2. For each video source, connect a VEXT-xx-MM cable from the video p ort of the source to a video input (VIDEO-1) of the VEEMUX-A (see Fig.
5 6. Connect a monitor to the por t labeled MONITOR 1 on t he rear of the VEEMUX-A (see Fig. 2). 7. Repeat step 6 for remaining monitors (outputs). 8. Connect audio output device (speakers) to port lab eled AUDIO OUT 1. 9. Repeat step 8 for remaining audio outp ut devices, connecting them to any remaini ng AUDIO OUT ports.
6 Front Panel Keypad Control The front panel keypad and LC D (drawing below) allo w the user to view and change current audio and vid eo connections, adjust audio volume and configur e the RS-232 control interf ace. The ke ypad buttons perform the following functions.
7 • Connecting v ideo only To make a video connection without changing the current audio connection, use any of the follo wing commands: 1. <OUT>, < ▲ >, Single digit output port number, <IN> or <ENTER>, Single digit input port number, <ENT ER>.
8 RS232 Control Remote Connection The RS232 Interface is designed to control the s witch via serial (RS232) daisy chain con nection from any host computer or other controller with an RS232 communications port.
9 Command Protocol Host controller commands supported by t he unit are defined belo w. All commands should be terminated with a <CR> (carriage return). When a command is sent, the entire string is echoed back to the host alon g with a response from the addressed unit as shown in the command definitio ns.
10 CB - Change Baud Rate For All Switches Format: CB 00,BR<CR> Successful Response: None Syntax or Transmission Error: ?<CR> Behavior: All switches on the serial bus will change their baud rat e to the new baud rate. 12 specifies 1200 baud, 24 specifies 2400 baud, 48 specifies 4800 bau d, 96 specifies 9600 baud.

15 DDC Support (Optional) DDC information allo ws the CPU to automatic ally select the optimal resolution for the monitor b y receiving, at power up, information from the monitor concerni ng its reso lution specifications.
16 Rack mounting Instructions This NTI switch was designed to be directly mounted to a ra ck. It includes a mounting fl ange to make attachment easy. Install 4 captive nuts to the rack in locations that line up with the holes (or slots) in the mounting flange on the NTI switch .
