Getting Started with NET GEAR genie 18 N300 Wireles s Router WNR2000v4 NE T GE AR genie Setup NETGEAR genie runs on any device with a web browser . It is the easiest way to set up the router because it automates many of the steps and verifies that those steps have been successfully completed.

Wir eless Network Enable SSID Broadcast . This setting allows the router to broadcast its SSID so wireless stations can see this wireless name (SSID) in their scanned network lists.
genie Basic Settings 30 N300 Wireles s Router WNR2000v4 WP A-PSK , WP A2-PSK , and WP A-PSK + WP A2-PSK Mixed Mode These types of wireless security options use a pre-shared key (PSK), which is the same as a passphrase, wireless network password, or network key .

WP A/WP A2 Enterprise does not use a passphrase but supports 802.1x authentication, which requires an internal or external RADIUS server .

Advanced Settings 81 N300 Wireles s Router WNR2000v4 Advanc ed Wireles s Settings The Advanced Wireless Settings screen lets you configure advanced settings for your wireless network, set up a schedule to turn off your wireless network, configure the WPS settings, and set up an access list for wireless clients.
Advanced Settings 82 N300 Wireles s Router WNR2000v4 IMPORT ANT : The Fragmentation Length, CTS/RTS Threshold, and Preamble Mode options are reserved for wireless testing and advanced configuration only . Do not change these settings. 4. Click the Apply button.
