3 Install Y our Modem Rout er Mak e sur e that your Internet service is active befor e you install your modem r outer . ¾ T o install y our modem rout er : 1. A ttach the ant ennas. a. Align the antennas with the ant enna posts on the modem r outer .
4 2. Connect the modem r outer t o a DSL ser vice (ADSL or VDSL) or a cable or fiber modem. T o connect the modem r outer t o a DSL ser vice (ADSL or VDSL), do the f ollowing: a. Install the DSL micr ofilter betw een your phone line and a phone. b. Use the phone cable t o connect the microfilt er to the DSL port on the modem rout er .

Y ou can use an Ethernet cable t o connect a comput er to the modem r outer or you can use WiFi t o connect a comput er or WiFi devic e to the modem r outer : • For a wir ed connection, use an Ethernet cable t o connect your comput er to a yellow Etherne t port on your modem r outer .
7 6. Launch a web br owser . The first time that you c onnect to the modem r outer , the genie scr een display s. Follow the genie st eps to c onnec t to the Interne t . If the genie scr een does not display, try the f ollowing: • Close and r eopen the browser .
8 WiFi Network Name and P asswor d The pr eset WiFi network name (S SID) and passwor d (network k ey) ar e unique to your modem r outer , like a serial number . Because the modem r outer aut omatically uses WiFi security, you don ’t need to set it up.
9 Join the WiFi Network Y ou can either use Wi‑Fi Pr ot ec ted Setup (WPS) or select your WiFi network and type its passwor d. For help with the WPS button on your comput er or WiFi device, check the instructions or online help that came with that c omputer or device.
10 View or Change the Modem Rout er Settings After you use genie t o set up the modem rout er , you can log in to the modem r outer t o view or change its settings. Log In t o the Modem Rout er ¾ T o log in to the modem r outer : 1. Connect a comput er or WiFi device t o the modem r outer .
