7 CR-1000 Series Coffee Bean Roaster Bef ore Y ou Begin Before using your NESCO ® Professional Coffee Bean Roaster the fi rst time: Unpack your ne w coffee bean roaster completel y . Remo ve all pack ing materials and make sure all parts are included.
8 www .nesco.com Make sure Rear Seal fi ts securely o v er metal rim of larger opening in Co ver (Fig. 4). Align the metal hinge pin of Co ver with the matching hole in the Roaster Body and slide together until the pin is full y seated. Gently press Co v er do wn until it latches in place.
9 CR-1000 Series Coffee Bean Roaster After you select the time for the roasting c ycle, press the ST A R T button. The auger will begin to turn the coffee beans and the fan will start. The red light will glo w , indicating the heating element is tur n ed ‘ON’ and the roasting cycle started.
10 www .nesco.com After the roaster has cooled for 10 minutes, open the roaster C o ver b y pulling the plastic tab to wards y ou while lifting up. CA UTION: Please use caution when opening or r emo ving Co ver , as all metal parts ma y still be hot after the r oasting cycle .
11 CR-1000 Series Coffee Bean Roaster Examine the slots sur rounding the ‘Driv e Shaft’ (F ig. 3) and re mo ve any debris with a damp to w el or small br ush.
12 www .nesco.com Resist the urge to refrigerate roasted beans. Don’ t store cof fee in a refrigerator; it is damp inside and dampness compromises the fl a vor and aroma.
13 CR-1000 Series Coffee Bean Roaster Pr oblem Cause and Solution Smoke is emitted and auger is turning. The Screen/Front Seal or Rear Seal not properly installed , damaged or missing. Reposition as needed. Screen is block ed. Make sure screen is cleaned and open before operating.
14 www .nesco.com Pr oblem Cause and Solution W ith Roasting Chamber clean and empty , auger does not turn after pressing ST AR T button. Roasting Chamber not seated cor rectly . Unplug roaster from outlet. Open Co ver , make sure Roasting chamber is fully seated on the heat shield of Roaster Base.
