5 CHILD-SAFE STOPPING AND ST AR TING T o stop a dishwashing programme, the stop button must be pressed for three seconds . T his delay is integrated. T o prevent the mac hine from being started by mistake by a child, it is possible to programme a similar delay in the starting mode, see Set- tings.

9 BASIC INSTRUCTIONS The following step-by-step instr uctions will help you to achie ve the best possible results . FILL THE BASKETS PROPERL Y Y our dishwasher fea tures the ASK O Super Cle- aning System™.
10 Place larger plates, dishes , pots, saucepans and cutler y (in the cutler y basket) in the lo wer basket. The detachable plate rack that is supp- lied with some models can easily be lifted out to provide space f or big plates , sauce pans and pots , or be fitted in one of the three different posi- tions.
11 Intensive wash Use the Intensive w ash programme for heavily soiled ware, such as pots and pans , and gr atin for ms . T he dishwasher can suitably be loaded with other items if not completely filled. Normal wash Use this prog ramm for nor mal washing .

13 OPTIONS ECO/BIO FUNCTION The Eco/Bio function r educes temperature of the main wash to 50°C and extends duration of the washing phase by 15 min utes . This save s energ y . Use the Eco/Bio function to gi ve the right temperature when using detergents con- taining enzymes.
14 ECO W ASH CHOOSE ECONOMY W ASH Press the E-button to reduce temperature of the main wash to 50°C. Duration of the main wash- ing phase will be extended by 15 minutes to compensate the lower temperature . Deterg ents that contain enzymes are more ef ficient at lo- wer temperature and in longer washing pro- grammes.
15 F or a v ariety of reasons , some ar ticles are unsu- itable for mac hine washing . Some materials can- not withstand high temperature, other s can be damaged by dishwasher detergents . SENSITIVE DECORA TION China that has “on-glaze“ decoration (feels a litt- le rough) should not be machine washed.
16 CLEANING CLEANING The inside of the machine is made of stainless steel, which is k ept c lean by nor mal use. How e- v er, deposits of lime can be for med inside the mac hine if the water is hard. If this happens , r un a Nor mal wash programme with two table- spoonful of citric acid in the deterg ent compar t- ment.
17 Spray arms Spray-ar m jets and bearings may sometimes be- come clog ged. Screw off the nut and take off the washer on top of the spray arm and lift off the ar m. P oke out any obstr uctions with a ske- w er or other suitable pointed tool. The spray- ar m jets face downw ards .
18 TOPPING UP WITH RINSE AID Dr ying will be faster if you use rinse aid. T he rinse-aid indicating lamp on the panel will light when the rinse-aid container becomes empty .* There is also an indicator on the dispenser. See the figure . T here is suf ficient rinse aid av ailable if the indica tor is completely black.
19 SAL T FILLING WITH SAL T The salt compar tment must be f illed with salt before using a mac hine that is equipped with a water softener . Use coarse salt or r egener ating salt that is especially intended for dishwashers.
20 SETTINGS REPROGRAMMING Some of the machine functions can be reprogrammed. Access to reprog ramming of the machine is g ained via the ordinar y control buttons as e xplained belo w . Any alteration made will remain intact until the next time you alter the functions .
21 ADD ADDITIONAL RINSING Proceed as follo ws to give an extra rinse in the Intensiv e and Nor mal wash: 1. PRESS RINSE FIVE TIMES* (WITHIN 15 SECONDS) 2. PRESS THE ECO/BIO FUNCTION ONCE TO OBT AIN AN EXTRA RINSE OR RESET : 2. PRESS RINSE ONCE AND YOU WILL GET NORMAL FUNCTION * The la test selected setting will be shown.
22 SETTING THE PUMPING-OUT TIME T he pumping-out time can suitably be extended if you are using a long drain hose , max. 3 metres , or if the machine for any other reason has difficulty in pumping out the waste water in time . 24 TROUBLE SHOOTING - DISHW ASHING RESUL TS F AUL T - POOR W ASHING PERFORMANCE Possible causes 1. Rota tion of spray ar ms prev ented by protr uding object. Check also that jets in the spray ar ms are not clogged. 2. Spray ar ms slowed do wn by impurities in the bearings .
25 • V er y hard water . Compensate with acidic rinse aid. Still not clean after testing with citric acid? • The cause is pr obably temperature that is too high and/or too much deter g ent. T his type of film, or etching, cannot be remedied, only pre vented.
