4 PULL-LA TCH (FULL Y INTEGRA TED MACHINES ONL Y) The machine will stop if the door is opened during operation. Howev er, since the machine is fitted with a pull-latch, splashing may occur if the door is opened too quick l y . Ther efore, unlatch the door carefully and wait until the spray ar ms have stopped rotating before opening fully .
5 CHILDREN’S SAFETY ! MACHINE WITH CHILD-SAFETY LOCK? T o activa te the child-safety lock, if fitted, lift and turn the screw slot with a screwdriver to a horizontal position. T he screw slot is located to the left of the handle. Reset by turning the slot to its vertical position.

9 BASIC INSTRUCTIONS The following step-by-step instr uctions will help you to achie ve the best possible results . FILL THE BASKETS PROPERL Y Y our dishwasher features the ASK O Super Cle- aning System ™ .
10 Place larger plates , dishes , pots , sauce pans and cutler y (in the cutler y basket) in the low er basket. The detachable plate rack that is supp- lied with some models can easily be lifted out to provide space f or big plates , sauce pans and pots , or be fitted in one of the three different posi- tions.
11 Intensive wash Use the Intensive wash programme for heavily soiled ware, such as pots and pans, and gratin for ms. The dishwasher can suitably be loaded with other items if not completely filled. Normal wash Use this programme for normal washing. It is devised for normally soiled glasses, cups and saucers, plates, dishes, etc.

13 OPTION DR YING HEAT The dr ying heat button lights if dr ying hea t is selected. Press ag ain if you want a pr og ramme without dr ying heat, and the lamp will g o out.
14 ECO W ASH W ASH ONL Y WHEN FULL Sav e energ y by not r unning the machine until it is completely full. CONNECT TO COLD W A TER SUPPL Y If the machine is connected to a cold water supp- ly , r unning time will be long er because hea ting of the water will take longer .
15 For a variety of reasons, some articles are unsu- itable for mac hine washing . Some materials can- not withstand high temperature, other s can be damaged by dishwasher detergents . SENSITIVE DECORA TION China that has “on-glaze“ decoration (feels a litt- le rough) should not be machine washed.
16 CLEANING CLEANING The inside of the machine is made of stainless steel, which is k e pt c lean by nor mal use. Howe - v er, deposits of lime can be for med inside the mac hine if the water is hard. If this happens , r un a Nor mal wash prog ramme with tw o table- spoonful of citric acid in the deterg ent compar t- ment.
17 W ARNING Do not use a spray of any kind close to the door lock. Spray arms Spray-arm jets and bearings may sometimes be- come clogged. Screw off the nut and take off the washer on top of the spray arm and lift off the ar m. P oke out any obstr uctions with a ske- w er or other suitable pointed tool.
18 TOPPING UP WITH RINSE AID Dr ying will be faster if you use rinse aid. The rinse-aid indicating lamp on the panel will light when the rinse-aid container becomes empty .* There is also an indicator on the dispenser. See the figure . T here is sufficient rinse aid av ailable if the indica tor is completely black.
19 SAL T FILLING WITH SAL T The salt compar tment must be filled with salt before using a mac hine that is equipped with a water softener . Use coarse salt or reg enerating salt that is especially intended for dishwashers.
20 REPROGRAMMING Some of the machine functions can be reprog rammed. Access to reprogramming of the machine is g ained via the ordinar y contr ol buttons as explained below . Any alteration made will remain intact until the next time you alter the functions .
21 SETTING THE W A TER LEVEL The machine takes in a suitable amount of water when the lev el r eaches the mark on the lower spra y pipe bearing, see illustration. Chec k the le vel b y opening the door after about 2 minutes during a Nor mal programme .
22 SETTING THE PUMPING-OUT TIME T he pumping-out time can suitably be extended if you are using a long drain hose , max. 3 metres , or if the machine for any other reason has difficulty in pumping out the waste water in time . 24 TROUBLE SHOOTING - DISHW ASHING RESUL TS F AUL T - POOR W ASHING PERFORMANCE Possible causes 1. Rota tion of spray arms pr evented b y protr uding object. Check also that jets in the spra y ar ms are not clogged. 2. Spray ar ms slowed down b y impurities in the bearings .
25 • V er y hard w ater . Compensate with acidic rinse aid. Still not clean after testing with citric acid? • The cause is pr obably temperature that is too high and/or too much detergent. T his type of film, or etching, cannot be remedied, only prevented.
