2 How to use your new dishwasher Follow the steps in the strip along the top of each page for a brief summary of the instructions. Further details and advice are on the page below the strip.
3 1 Program lamp Open the door by pulling the handle forwards and upwards. Press the main on/off switch. How to open the door if the child safety catch is engaged: Slide the safety catch to the left and then lift the handle upwards.
4 2 . 3 Load the baskets Be careful when washing items made of certain materials (see page 9). Add detergent Pre-wash and Main wash: in the detergent com- partment Close the door after you have added the detergent. Upper basket Load glasses, cups, bowls, small plates, saucers, long items of cutlery and carving knives into the upper basket.
5 4 6 5 T echnical details W arning! Dishwasher detergent is corrosive – take care to keep it out of the reach of children. Make sure that children cannot get hold of dishwasher detergent. If any is accidentally swallowed, give plenty to drink: one or two glasses of milk or water.
6 How to use your Model 1755 • Select the programme and the machine starts • Press the power switch Which programme should I use? The easiest way of using the machine is to select a standard programme. Simply press one of the four symbols for the dishwashing programmes that you want, and the machine does the rest.
7 • If you turn off the machine at the main on/off switch (or if there is a power failure) before the programme has finished, the programme will continue when power is restored. If the power is turned off during drying, and the door is open for more than two minutes, the programme will be terminated.
8 Re-programmings Protected start programme You can also prevent children starting the machine by playing with the pushbuttons by programming the machine so that it will start only if the Start push-button is pressed and held for three seconds. 1. Press 5 times, which gets you into the protected start programme.
9 . . . shows if anything is wrong Indicates that the door is open when attempting to start a programme, or is opened while a programme is running. Indicates a fault in the heater. Indicates high water level in the machine. Indicates a thermistor fault (heater control).
10 If the water in your area is very hard, it may be necessary to alter the amount of salt required. 1. Press the five times within 15 seconds to get into the salt adjusting programme.
11 Care of the machine The interior of the machine is manufactu- red from stainless steel, which is kept clean through normal use. It may, however, be necessary to clean the strainers and spray arms at intervals. Food residues caught by the fine strainer are flushed away automatically each time the machine is used.
12 If the machine does not work If the machine does not work, check to see whether there is some simple fault that you can rectify your- self. Follow the instructions below. Problem Response 1. You have forgotten to press the main switch. 2. The door is not properly closed.
13 3 2 1 Choose the right programme Do as follows We reserve the right to make changes. . . . and that the water is turned on. Load the baskets and fill with deter- gent. Check that the spray arms can rotate freely . . . Close the door and select the pro- gramme.
