INTRODUCTION GET TING ST ARTED UNP ACKING AND SETUP WH A T’S I N THE BOX Packed with your C 715 y ou will nd: • An AM loop antenna. • A FM lead-type antenna. • A F-type DAB antenna. • The SR 7 remote contr ol with 2 (t wo) AAA batteries. • This owner’s manual .
1 POWER: P ress this button to switch ON the C 715. The Standby LED indicator will turn from amber to blue and illuminate the Vacuum Fluorescent Displa y ( VFD). Pressing the pow er button again turns the unit back to standby mode. If the disc tray is open and the C 715 is powered OFF , the disc tray will draw close and the unit powered OFF .
9 TIME MODE: In conjunction with [ TUNE/TIME] k eys, toggle this button to cycle through the following timer modes: Current time On time Source select O time Refer to the sections “SE T TING THE CLOCK” and “SET TING THE ON/OFF TIMER” f or a description of the above modes.
1 SPEAKERS: Connect the left and right terminals to the corresponding loudspeakers. Make sure that the “+” (red) terminal and “-” (black) terminal are connected to the corresponding “+” and “-” ter minals of the loudspeaker . Use ex tra care to ensur e that no stray wires or strands cross between posts or terminals at either end.

CD-R AND CD-RW A UDIO DISCS Aside from normal CD audio discs, the C 715 can play back CD-R or CD- RW audio discs that have been recorded on a computer or CD recor der. The quality of CD-R, CD -RW audio discs varies widely which may aect playability.

The C 715 can play back MP3/WMA les stor ed in ex ternal USB (Universal Serial Bus) devices. The following are the C 715’ s capabilities with respect to USB device playability. 1 Playback of MP3/WMA les recorded in various USB devices such as USB ash memory, MP3 or HDD .
REC ORDING TO USB With an external USB device, the following pr ocedures will allow you to record as MP3/WM A le a source of CD, MP3/WMA disc , cassette deck , radio broadcast or other auxiliary devices. 1 Connect the ex ternal USB device to the front panel’ s USB input.
LI ST EN IN G TO AM/ FM The C 715’ s internal AM/FM tuner o ers ver y high quality sound from radio broadcasts. The reception and sound quality will always be dependent to a degree howev er on the t ype of antenna(s) used as well as pr oximity to the broadcast origin, geography and w eather conditions.
AUTOM A TIC PR ESE T AM/ FM O NL Y Pr eset stations may also be programmed automatically for the entire F M (or AM) band. 1 T oggle the [BAND] button to select AM or FM band. 2 Press and hold SR 7’ s [MEMORY ] key. Release [MEMORY ] key when “ Auto Memor y” starts to blink in the VFD .
PROGRAM TYPE (PTY) A major benet of RDS is its ability to encode broadcasts with Pr ogram T ype (PT Y ) codes that indicate the type of material being broadcast. 1 T oggle the [BAND] button to select FM band. 2 Press and hold [RDS MODE] until ‘RDS PR OGRAM T YPE” is shown in the VFD.
LISTENING T O DAB Until now , analogue radio signals such as FM or AM have been subject to numerous kinds of inter fer ence on their way from the transmitter to your radio. These problems wer e caused by mountains, high-rise buildings and weather conditions.
SECOND ARY SERVICE Secondar y service is a par t-time prog ram transmitted as a side channel of the primar y station. Check broadcasting schedule if you want t o listen to secondary stations. When you listen to primary stations that include secondar y services (stations), “SECONDARY” blinks in the VFD.

LISTENING T O EXTERNAL SOURCES When appropriately connected to the applicable C 715 input, one can list en to external sources such as a VCR, M edia Play er (MP), T ape Recorder and other auxiliary components. T oggle the [SOURCE] button to select [ T APE], [ VIDEO], [AUX] or [MP] mode.
A C TIV A TE TIMER OPERA TION When pressed, the TIMER button in the SR 7 remote contr ol will ac tivate several timer modes. T oggle [ TIMER] to step through the following modes: Timer o Timer dail.
T ONE/BALANCE/DIMMER T oggle this button to adjust tone , balance and dimmer settings in combination with [ VOLUME] knob. T oggle [ TONE/BAL/DIMMER] to step through the following modes: BASS TREBLE BALANCE DIMMER Select the feature you want to adjust and within 3 seconds , tur n [ VOL UME] clockwise or counterclockwise to change the level settings.
