3 SECTION 1: IMPORTANT SAFE OPERATION PRACTICES DANGER: This machine was built to be operated according to the rules for s afe operation in this manual. As with any type of power equipment, carelessness or er ror on the part of the operator can result in serious injury.

5 SECTION 2: ASSEMBLING YOUR SNOW THROWER Unpacking Fr om Carton • Cut along c orners of the c arton and lay it do wn flat. Remove pac king mater ial. • Remove an y loose par ts inclu ded with unit ( i.e., operator ’ s manual, etc. ). • Roll unit out of carton.

Refer t o page 9 of th is manual for instructio ns. Assembling Disc harge Chute • Turn the ch ute crank until the chut e faces strai ght to the front.
7 Discharge Chute The angle of the discha rge ch ute contro ls the dista nce that the sn ow is thrown . Tilt the disc harge chu te up for greater distance; tilt down for less distanc e. Loosen the hand kn ob on the side of the dischar ge chute to ad just.
8 • If you have a grounded three -prong receptacle, proceed as follo ws. • Rotate c hoke l ever t o FULL positio n. • Connect power cord to swi tch b ox on dash pa nel. Plug the other end of power cord into a three-prong 120-volt, gr ounded, AC r eceptacle.
9 SECTION 5: MAKING ADJUSTMENTS Shave Plate • To check the adjustme nt of the shave plat e, place the un it on a level su rface. See Fi gure 8. The wheels, sh ave plate an d augers s hould all c ontact leve l surfac e. Note that if th e shave pla te is adjusted too high, snow ma y blow under the housing.
10 SECTION 6: MAINTAINING YOUR SNOW THROWER Replacing Belt • Remove the belt cover by re moving fi ve he x screws. Se e Figure 12. Fig ure 12 • Pull up on the idler pul ley an d slip the bel t off the engine p ulley. • Push down on the idler pu lley and sli p the belt off the a uger pu lley.
11 SECTION 7: OFF-SEASON STORAGE • Clean sno w thrower thoro ughly. • Lubric ate a s inst ructed above with a ligh t oil. • Follow “ Storage ” instruc tions i n the Eng ine Ma nual. • Store in a clean, dry area. B lock the snow th rower up so it is not resting on th e rubber auger blades.
