7 3. Disc onnec t the log c radle from t he beam on th e side of the co ntrol valve. See Figure 3 -5. 4. Lif t and slid e the cylin der up to the to p of beam and into the weld br ackets. See Figure 3 - 6. 5. Attac h the dis lodg er over the wedge asse mbly and secure wi th hardware, previously re moved, to the weld brackets.

9 Control Handle The cont rol handl e has three po sition s. See Figure 4 -2. • FORWARD : M ove control hand le FORW ARD or DOWN to move wedge to spli t wood. NOTE : C ontrol hand le will return to n eutral pos ition as soon as h andle is rel eased.

11 T ranspor ting the Log Splitter IM PORT ANT : Always turn fuel valve to OFF positio n before trans por ting th e log spli tter . 1 . Lower the beam to its h orizontal posi tion. Make cer- tain th e beam is loc ked securely wi th the hor izontal beam lo ck.
12 5 Maintaining Y our Log Splitter W ARN IN G : Do n ot at any time m ake any adjust ment s without f irst stop ping engin e, disco nnec ting spa rk plug wire , and gro unding it ag ainst th e engin e. Always wear sa fet y glass es during ope ratio n or while p er forming any adjust ment s or re pairs .
13 5 W ARNING IMPORT ANT Nev er hit the engine shaft in an y manne r , as a blow w ill cause perman ent dama ge to the engine . Maintaining Y our Log Splitter Hydraulic Fluid and Inlet Filter • Check t he hydraulic fluid l ev el in th e log spli tter reser voir tank before eac h use.
14 6. Instal l pump cou pling hal f and key on pump shaf t. Rotate coup ling half u ntil set screw faces o pening i n shiel d. Do not tighten set s crew . 7 . Instal l nylon “spi der ” onto engin e coupli ng half. 8. Align p ump coup ling half w ith nylon “s pider ” by rotat - ing engi ne using st arter han dle.
15 Storing Y our Log Splitter Prepare your log spli tter for storag e at the end of the season or i f the log sp lit ter will not be used for 3 0 days or more.
