6 Figure 1 Attaching The Tongue (See Figure 2) • With the lo g spli tter still sta nding upr ight, remove two hex bo lts, lock washers, and he x nuts from the end of the ton gue assemb ly. • Align th e holes in the tongu e with the holes in the tank and sec ure with hard ware just remo ved.

See Figur e 6. • Do not overfill and replac e vented d ipstick s ecurely. The dipstick should be tig hten unti l the top of the threads are flush with the to p of the pipe.

10 Tran sporti ng Th e Log Spl itte r • Lower the be am to its hor izontal po sition. Ma ke certain the beam is locked sec urely wit h the horizontal beam lock . • Remove the spring clip and c levis pin from j ack stand. Sup port the tongu e and pivot the jack stand up against the tongue.
11 Drain the fl uid and flush the r eservoir tank and hoses with kero sene whe never any repai r work is per formed on the tank, hy draulic pum p or valve. Cont aminants i n the fluid wil l damage the hy draulic c ompone nts. NOTE: The flushing the rese rvoir tank is recommen ded to be p erformed by an autho rized s ervice d ealer.
12 Storing Y our Log Split ter • Clean the un it thorough ly. • Wipe equ ipment with an oiled rag to prev ent rust. • Refer to eng ine manual for correct engine storage instruc tions. • Store un it in a clean, dry area. Do not st ore next to cor rosive mat erial s such as fertiliz er.
