Oil & F uel Specif ications T he engin e is shipped w ithout gaso line in the engine. S ee the foll owing instru ctio ns for adding g asoline. S ome engin es are shippe d with oil alrea dy in the engin e, others wi thout oil alrea dy in the engin e.
Fil ling Oil Sump 1 . Remove the oil f ill c ap dipstick fro m oil f iller tube by 2. rotating counter-cl ock wise and lif ting th e dipstick ou t of the engin e.
Fu el Recommendations O peratin g the engine w ith E85 fuel, an oil/gasoline mix ture, dir t y gasoline, o r gaso lin e over 30 days o ld that has not b een s tabilize d using a fuel additive, may result in dam age to your engine ’ s carbur etor .

Pre-O peration Ch eck T he engin e is shipped w ithout gaso line or oil in the engin e. See the S et-Up Sec tion of this manu al for instru ctio ns on addin g oil and gasolin e.
If your hous e wiring is groun ded and a G .F . I. c. three - Prong Wall Receptacl e is not available at the loc ation where your s tar ter will b e used, on e must .
Grasp the s tar ter cord handle. 7 . Pull rope ou t slowly until you fe el drag. Witho ut allowing the ro pe to retrac t, continue pulling the r ope with o ne rapid f ull arm stro ke.
Periodic insp ec tion and adjus tment of the en gine is essential if high level pe rf ormance is to be maintain ed. Re gular maintenance will also ensure a lo ng ser vice life. T he require d ser vice inter vals and the k ind of maintenance to b e per form ed are descr ibed in the tab le above.
Checking and Changing the Oil T o avoid engin e damage, it is imp or tant to: Check oil l evel before e ach use and ever y 5 oper ating hour s when th e engine is warm . Change the o il af ter the f irst 5 op erating h ours and ever y 50 oper ating hours th ereaf ter .
Caref ully disconnec t spar k plug wire f rom groundin g post, 1 8. if prese nt. Caref ully reconne ct th e spark plug w ire to the spark p lug. NOTE: It is ad visable to re check the o il level af ter you have ope rated the engi ne for a shor t whil e, and the norm al engine ope rating tempe rature has be en achieved.

Especif icaciones para el aceite y el combustible NOT A : El motor se desp acha sin gasolina ni a ceite en su interior. Si se hace funci onar el motor sin suf icie nte aceite puede dañ arse gravemente y se anula la ga rantía.

T eng a cuidado de no d erramar comb ustible al re alizar la recar ga. El combustib le derr amado o sus vapo res se pue den incendiar. Si se derrama comb ustible, ase gúrese de que el área es té seca antes d e arrancar e l motor . Evite el contac to repe tido o prol ongado con la pi el y la inhalación d e los vapo res.

Control previo al funcionamiento Algunos motore s se envían ya con aceite en el moto r , ot ros sin que el mot or t enga ya el aceit e. Es muy importante controlar el aceite antes de operar el motor y agr egar más si es necesario.
Si el cabl eado de su ho gar está con ec tado a tier ra c. y no hay un enchufe d e conexió n a tierra de t res espigas con interr uptor de falla a ti erra en el lu gar donde s e usará el ar rancad .

La insp ección y los ajustes p erió dicos del motor so n esenciale s si se dese a mantener un alto nivel de d esempe ño. El mantenimiento reg ular tambié n garantiza rá una prolo ngada vida útil d el motor . Los inter valos d e mantenimiento requ eridos y el tipo d e mantenimiento a ser reali zado s e describ en en la tabla p recedente.
Control y cambio del aceite Para evit ar que el motor resulte dañ ado, es impor ta nte que: Controle el ni vel de aceite antes de cada us o y cada 5 hor as de funci onamiento cuand o el motor est á tibio. Cambie e l aceite después d e las 5 primer as horas de ope ración y ca da 50 horas de op eración a p ar tir de ese mome nto.
N O TA : NO permita que el niv el de ace ite se reduz ca por debajo d e la marca " ADD (agregar)" de la varilla de me dición. Si lo hace el equ ipo pue de funcio nar mal o dañars e. Limpie tod o el aceite que se haya d erramad o. 1 3. Coloqu e la varilla de me dición de l nivel en el tap ón del 1 4.
Para limpiar e l elemento de esp uma, sep árelo del e lemento 3. de pap el y lávelo con deterge nte líquido y agua. Perm ita que se se que bien antes d e usarlo. No lubr ique el el emento de espuma . Ajustes NO realice ningún ajus te del motor. Los ajustes de fábric a son satisf actor ios para la mayoría d e las condiciones .
Almacenamien to del motor Almacenamient o a corto plazo / estacional Limpie el moto r Si el motor ha es tado f uncionand o, déjelo enfr iar durante por l o menos m edia hor a antes de limpiarlo. Antes de dar ser vici o al motor , ex traiga la cub ier ta del ca rburado r y/ o el aloj amiento del sop lador.
Descon ec te con cuidado el ca ble de la bujía y ma nténgalo 1. alejado d e la misma. Mantenga el c able de la b ujía que est á descone ct ado de for ma segur a, alejado d e las piez as met álicas dond e se pod ría formar un arco eléc trico.
