7 Figure 4 A TT ACHING THE CLUTCH CABLE Attach the c lutch cab le to the han dle as follo ws (be careful not to k ink the cable). • Remove thr eaded eye bolt and nut from the end of the cabl e. • Route th e clutch ca ble to the rig ht side of t he handle moun ting brac kets and und ernea th the handle.
8 Now move the shift lever to FORWA RD (Wheels Forward) position . Careful ly enga ge the clutch by li fting the clutch control ba il agains t the handl e.
9 CLUTCH CONTROL BAIL The clut ch contro l bail is lo cated be low the han dle. See Figure 7. Liftin g the clutch control bai l agains t the handle e ngages the wh eel and tine dr ive mech anisms . NOTE: Never enga ge clutch l ever whil e shift ing. DEPTH ST AKE The depth ba r controls the tilling depth.

11 • Remove the belt cover as described i n the belt replaceme nt secti on on page 12. • Remove the hai rpin cli p and spring washe r from the idler pul ley rod. See Figu re 11. • Move the id ler pu lley rod to the lo wer hole in th e idler br acket.
12 CLEAN ING THE T INE AR EA Clean the unde rside of the tine shiel d after each use. The dirt wash es off the tines easier if washed off immed iately in stead of af ter it drie s. We do not rec ommend the us e of pressur e washers to clean you r unit.
13 SECTION 9: OFF-SEASON STORAGE If the tiller wil l not be used for a period lo nger than 30 days, the following steps should be taken to pr epare the tiller for s torage. • Clean t he exter ior o f engine and the e ntire till er thorough ly. L ubricate the ti ller as desc ribed in t he lubric ation inst ructi ons.
