1 1 Chapter 1 Introduction The UPort 1100 Series of USB-to- s er ial converters provide an easy way to add CO M ports to your computer. The U Port 1110 prov ides one RS-232 po rt, the UPort 113 0 provides on e RS-422/RS-485 port, and the UPort 1150 and UPor t 1150I each prov ide one RS-232/4 22/485 port.

2 2 Chapter 2 Installation and Configuration Installation of the converter is a simple process. Fi rst install the driver, then plug the converter into a USB port. When the converter is plugged in, Windows will load the correct dr ivers for the converter and the new COM port.
UPort 1100 Series User’s Manual Installation and Configuration Initial Driver Installation The Document ation and Software CD contain the drivers for the co nverter. You may also download th e drivers at www.moxa.com . The installation procedure is the same for all Wind ows operating systems.

UPort 1100 Series User’s Manual Installation and Configuration Configuring the COM Port After the driver and hardware have been succe ssfully in stalled, the new COM port will have a COM number and can be accessed and controlled ju st like your PC’s built-in COM ports.
UPort 1100 Series User’s Manual Installation and Configuration Configuring the Converter If you need to change t he COM number that the co nverter assigns to the COM port, or ad just other advanced settings, you may go to Device Manager and right-click the UPort converter, which will be listed u nder Multi-por t serial adaptors .
