4 Remov e any protectiv e cover fr om the soleplate (3) and the base unit, if any . Unwind and straighten the po wer cord (23) and steam supply cord (22) .
5 T urn the temperature dial (2) to suit the garment (see T emperatur e guide on page 4). The temperature indicator light (4) illuminates until the temperature is r eached.
6 Cleaning the boiler When the boiler req uires descaling, the descaling indicator light (18) will illuminate. When this happens, the boiler must be manually rinsed out with clean water until all the scale is r emoved. The indicator light will go out only after the scale has been remo ved.
7 3 Hold the base unit (9) fir mly with both hands and shake w ell. 4 T ur n the base unit (9) upside-down and pull back the boiler cap (1 4) . Unscrew the boiler scr ew (13) with the boiler key (1 2) , which is attached to the underside of the base unit.
