43D0122 21 ELECTRICAL WIRING (MILLI-V OL T) A. COMPLETE MILLIV OL T SYSTEM CHECK (“A” Reading - Thermostat contacts CLOSED - Control Knob “ON” - Main burner should turn ON) a. If the reading is more than 175 milli-volts and the automatic v alve still does not come on, replace the control.

During initial operation of the ne w heater , burning logs will give off a paper b urning smell and orang e fl ames will be present.
43D0122 23 FLAME APPEARANCE Flames from the pilot, fr ont and rear burner should be visually c hecked as soon as the heater is installed. In addition, periodically check the fl ames visually during operation. CHECKING THE PILO T FLAME The pilot fl ame must al ways be present when the heater is in operation.
24 43D0122 In normal operation at full rate after 15 minutes, the follo wing fl ame appearances should be obser ved: Figure 20 - Correct Appearance of Flames The flames should be yello w and extend 3"-4" abov e the log top surfaces. The yello w flames should not contact the logs.
