EN-10 Remote control effective range Infra-Red (IR) remote control sensor is located on the front of the pr ojector . The remote control mus t be held at an angl e within 30 degrees perpendicu lar to th e projector's IR remote control sensor to function correctly .

EN-12 How to determine the position of the pr ojector for a given screen size 1. Select your screen size. 2. Refer to the table and find the closest match to your screen size in the left columns labeled "Screen" .

EN-17 ENGLISH Operation S tarting up the pr ojector 1. Plug the power cord into the projector and into a wall socket. Turn on the wall socket switch (where fitted). Check that the POWER indica tor light on the projector lights orange after power has been applied.
EN-18 Using the menus The projector is equipped with On-S creen Display (OSD) menus for making various adjustments and settings. Below is the overvie w of the OSD menu. T o use the OSD menus, please set th em to your familiar language first. 1. Press MENU on the projector or remote control to turn the OSD menu on.
EN-19 ENGLISH Utilizing the password function For security purposes and to help prevent unauthorized us e, t he projector i ncludes an option for setting up password security . The password can be set through the On-Scree n Display (OSD) menu. For details of the OSD menu operation, please refer to "Using the menus" on page 18 .
EN-20 Changing the password 1. Open the OSD menu and go to the SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced > Security Settings > Change password menu. 2. Press MODE/ENTER . The message 'INPUT CURRENT P ASSWORD' displays. 3. Enter the old password. • If the password is correct, another message 'INPUT NEW P ASSWORD' displays.
EN-21 ENGLISH Adjusting the projected image Adjusting the projection angle The projector is equipped with 1 quick- rel ease adjuster foot and 1 rear adjuster foot. These adjusters cha nge the image height and projection angle. T o adjust the projector: 1.
EN-22 Corr ecting keystone Keystoning refers to the situation where the projected image is notic eably wider at either the top or bottom. It occurs when the projector is not pe rpendicular to the screen. T o correct this, besides adjusting the he ight of the projector , you will need to manually correct it following on e of these ste ps.
EN-23 ENGLISH Selecting the aspect ratio The 'aspect rati o' is the ratio of the image width to the image height. Most an alog TV and computers are in 4:3 ratio, which is the default for this projecto r , and digital TV and DVDs are usually in 16:9 ratio.
EN-24 Optimizing the image Selecting a pictur e mode The projector is preset wi th several predefined picture modes so that you can choose one to suit your ope rating environment and i nput signal picture type. T o select a operation mode that su its your need, you can follow one of the following steps.
EN-25 ENGLISH Fine-tuning the image quality in user modes According to the detected signal type, there are some user-def inable f unctions available when User 1 or User 2 mode is selected. Y ou can make adjustments to these f unctions based on your needs.
EN-26 3D Color Management In most instal lation situations, color man agement will not be necessary , such as in classroom, meeting room, or lounge room situations where lights remain on, or where building external windows allow dayli ght into the room.
EN-27 ENGLISH Setting the pr esentation timer The presentation time r can i ndicate the presentation time on the screen to help you achieve better time management wh en giving presentations.
EN-28 Hiding the image In order to draw the audience's full attention to the presenter , you can use BLANK on the projector or remote control to hide the screen image . Press any key on the projector or remote control to restore the image. The word ' BLANK ' appears at the lower right corner of the screen while the imag e is hidden.
EN-29 ENGLISH Operating in a high altitude envir onment W e recommend you use the High Altitude Mode when your environment is between 1500 m –3000 m above sea level, and temperature is between 0°C–35°C. Do not use the High Altitude Mode if your altitude is between 0 m and 1500 m and temperature is between 0°C and 35°C.

EN-35 ENGLISH Maintenance Car e of the pr ojector Y our projector needs little maintenance. The only thing you need to do on a regular basis is to keep the lens clean. Never remove any parts of the projector except the lamp. Contact your dealer if other parts need replacing.
EN-36 Lamp information Getting to know the lamp hour When the projector is in operation, the duration (in ho urs) of lamp usage is automatically calculated by the built-in timer .
EN-37 ENGLISH Timing of r eplacing the lamp When the lamp indicator lights up red or a message appears s uggesting it is time to replace the lamp , please install a new lamp or consult your dealer . An ol d lamp may cause a malfunction in the projector and in some instances the lamp may explode.
EN-38 Replacing the lamp Spare lamp for XD95U: VL T -XD95LP • T o reduce the risk of electrical shock, always turn the projector off and disconnect the power cord before changing the lamp. • T o reduce the risk of severe burns, allow the projector to cool for at least 4 5 minutes before replacing the lamp.
