GB - 8 If fuel is spilled on clot hing, change clothing immediately . Before tipping unit up onto housing, remov e fuel so no spills wil l occur. GB - 13 STOPPING IN AN EMERGENCY Immediately release au ger clutch bail t o stop unit in an emergency . S top engine, remove key and wait for all rotating parts to stop before leaving operator ’s position. ST ARTING AND SHUTTING OFF IMPORT ANT : Allow unit and en gine to adjust to the outdoor t emperature before clearing snow .
GB - 14 Tips f o r Op e r a t i o n Snow is best removed as soon as possible after a snow fall. T o clear an area, run unit in an overlapping series of paths. F or large ar eas, start in the middle and throw snow to each side, so s now is not cleared more than once.
GB - 15 SERV ICE PO SI T ION Place unit on a flat level surface. DRIVE BELT REPLACEME NT Remove (Fi gure 8) 1. Remov e cowl. 2. Disconnec t extension spring on idler arm/brake. 3. Remove auger drive pulley . 4. Remove old belt. Inst all (Figure 8) 1. Install new belt on drive pulley and idlers.
GB - 16 DISCHARGE CHUTE DEFLECTOR ADJUSTMENT If discharge chute def lector does not s tay in position while throwing snow , adjust chute by tightening fasteners (figur e 10). DRIVE BELT ADJUSTMENT Adjust Auger Control Cab le (Figure 1 1) 1. Meas ure bail spring length with auger clutch bail DISENGAGED.
GB - 17 3. Loosen belt finger and rotate until there is 1/32 – 1/16 in. (0.8 – 1.6 m m) gap between belt finger and drive belt. 4. Tighten belt finger . 5. Rechec k gap bet ween belt finger and drive belt. Adjust belt f inger until there is 1/32 – 1/16 in.
GB - 18 SHORT T ERM IMPORT ANT : NEVER spray unit with high pressure wa ter or st ore unit outdoors. Run with attachment clutch engag ed a few minutes after each use to free unit of any loose or melting snow . Inspect unit for v isible signs of wear, breakage or damag e.
