GB - 8 TOOLS REQUIRED • 7/16" Open-end wrench T O REMO VE UNIT FROM CART ON 1. Cut off top of car ton. 2. Remov e front and rear inser ts and literature pac k. 3. Cut out back of carton and roll unit out. 4. Remov e protectiv e pac kaging materials.
GB - 9 CONTROLS AND F EATURES Ref er to Figure 1 on the inside front cov er for controls and f eatures locations. Ignition Switch The ignition s witch is operated with a remo v able k ey that has two positions . "ST OP" P osition: Ignition system is shut down.
GB - 10 IMPORT ANT: DO NO T force froz en chute controls . Star t engine and run for 3-5 minutes . If still frozen, tak e unit to a warm place to thaw . Dischar ge Chute De fl ector The discharge chute de fl ector controls how high sno w is thrown. Use handle at rear of de fl ector to position de fl ector at desired height.
GB - 11 STARTING AND SHUTOFF IMPORT ANT: At start up, allo w unit and engine to adjust to the outdoor temperatures bef ore clearing snow . Bef ore shut off, run auger a fe w minutes to pre v ent freeze-up of auger . NO TE: T r y out each control without the engine running to see how the y work and what they do .
GB - 12 T O THRO W SNO W T o propel unit and throw snow: 1. Star t engine. 2. Squeeze auger clutch bail against handlebar to engage auger . 3. Lift handlebar so auger contacts surf ace to be cleared. Lift the handlebar only high enough to propel unit f orward.
GB - 13 GENERAL RECOMMEND A TIONS Some adjustments must be made periodically to properly maintain your unit. All adjustments in the SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS section of this manual should be check ed at least once each season.
