GB - 13 Chute Handle (932048) IMPORT ANT : If chute does no t stay in set po sition, adju st as dire cted in Di scha rg e Chute (9320 45, 046, 047) on page 19 , or re pair before o peration. Rotate the Chut e with Discha rge Chute Hand le. Always stand oppos ite the di rection of snow di scharge when ro tating the dischar ge chute.
GB - 14 PRE-S TART 1. Frozen Impeller IMPORT ANT : Before s tarting engine, c heck im peller to be sure i t is not frozen . T o chec k impeller: 1. With i gnition key switch in “ S top” p osition, squeez e Attachment Clutch Lever to Engag ed position.
GB - 15 4. Make su re that the trac tion clutch and attachment driv e clutch lev ers are f ully disen gaged. 5. Push P rimer Bu lb 2 or 3 tim es for co ld engine. NOTE: When tempe rature is below -15° F ( -26° C) additio nal primin g may be needed. 6.
GB - 16 Arien s Dealers will provide any servi ce or adju stments which m ay be requi red to keep your unit o perating at peak effici ency . Sh ould engine s ervice b e required , contact an Ariens dea ler or an authoriz ed engine manufac turer's se rvice ce nter .
GB - 17 CHANGE ENGINE OIL Change oi l after first 2 hours of op eration, ther eafter change oil every 25 hours (mo re often if requi red). Refer to Engine M anual for detailed instr uctions. Run engi ne just p rior to chan ging o il. W ar m oil will flow more fr eely and c arry away more co ntamination.
GB - 18 SCRAPER BLADE IMPORT ANT : Dam age to auge r/impel ler housin g will result i f blade wears do wn too far . Scra per blade is adjustable to compen sate f or wear . T o a djust scr aper blade: 1. T i p unit back onto handl ebar , supp ort housing and loo sen nuts retain ing blade.
GB - 19 DISCHARGE CHUTE (93204 5 , 046, 047) If ch ute does n ot stay in posi tion whil e operating, tighten nut on carr iage bolt at p ivot poin t to increas e tensio n on spri ng (Figure 19). SPEE D SELECTOR ADJUSTMENT T o adju st (Figur e 20): 1. Disconnec t pivot pin from the spe ed selector arm .
GB - 20 4. Remove belt finger b y removing c ap screw mountin g belt f inger to eng ine (Figu re 22 or Figure 23) . 5. Remove attachment driv e belt from e ngine sheav e (it may be nec essary to tu rn engin e sheav e using rec oil starter hand le).
GB - 21 T RACTION DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT NOTE: Housing and frame must be tipped a part and attachmen t drive bel t remove d from eng ine sheave in order t o change tra ction drive b elt (Figur es 21, 22, 23 and 24). 1. Remove at tachment drive bel t (See Remove Attachment Dr ive Belt on pag e 19).
GB - 22 2. Rem ove be lt cover . IMPORT ANT : The clutch ca ble must b e slack when clutc h lever is dise ngaged. 3. Adjust c able slack. a. With the clutch lever dis engaged, ad just lower cable adjuster on the attachment clutch arm so abo ut 1/16" (2 m m) of thread ext ends past the lowe r mounting n ut (Figur e 26).
GB - 23 5. Check Br ake When th e clutch lever is disengaged, the brake must c ontact the attachment b elt. When t he clutch leve r is engage d, the brake must be mor e than 1/16 in. (1.6 mm) away from th e bel t an d must no t cont act the f rame (Fi gure 2 7).
GB - 24 2. T i p the unit u p onto front h ousing on a level surface. 3. Remove loc k pin s from wheel axle s and remov e wheels . 4. Remove two bolts from top of bottom cov er . 5. Loosen two bottom s crews and slide c over off. 6. Disconnec t pivot pin from the spe ed selector arm .
GB - 25 SHORT T ERM IMPORT ANT : NEVER spray un it with high pressure water or s tore unit ou tdoors. Run with a ttachment clutc h engaged a few minute s after each use to fre e unit of any loose or me lting snow . Close f uel shut-off val ve. Inspec t unit for visible sig ns of wear , breakage or damage.
