8 5. Installing the refrigerant piping (3) Use the following procedure f or connecting the gas-side piping. (Fig. 5-2) 1.Remove the flange and packing attached to the v alv e body . These were mounted at the time of shipping from the f actor y to prev ent refrigerant leakage.

10 5.7. Precautions when reusing existing R22 refrigerant pipes • Refer to the flo wchar t below to determine if the existing pipes can be used. • See below f or oil condition. Clear to slight yello w color → Normal Black or bro wn → Pipe cleaning is necessary .
