Welcome Thank you for purchasing t his Mio. Please read this ma nual carefully before using your Mio for the first tim e. Keep this manual in a safe place and us e as your first point of reference. Important information for using the manual It is important to understand the terms and ty pographical convention s used in this manual.
Mounting your Mio in a vehicle CAUTION: Never mount your Mio where the driver ’s field of vision is blocked. If the windscreen is tinted with a reflective coating, it may be athermic an d impact the GPS reception. In this instance, please moun t your Mi o where there is a “cle ar area” - usually just beneath the rear-view mirror.
Enabling Traffic (TMC) Reception Traffic informat ion is avai lable in se lected mo dels and co untries only. Depending on the model of your Mio you can receive live traffic information in one of two ways: If your Mio has a built-in T MC receiver, you can re ceive live traffic in formation* via the in-car charger which is used as an antenna.
Installing the optional digital TV card 1. Open the TV card compartment cover as shown below. 2. Insert the digital TV card into the socket ( n ), and then press down to lock the card into place ( o ). If you need to remove the digital TV card, press the loc king clips ( n ) to re lease the card and then remove it ( o ).

How do I turn on my Mio? Using the power switch To turn on your Mio, slide the power switch to the ON position. To turn off your Mio, slide the powe r switch to the OFF position. Your Mio will enter a suspended state. When you next turn it on, your Mio wi ll return to the Main Menu.
How do I charge the battery? Your Mio has an internal battery that when fully charg ed, should provide power for up to 2 hour s. The battery can take up to 4 hours to fu lly charge. The battery may not be fully charged wh en you use your Mio for the first time.
How do I insert a memory card? CAUTION: Do not apply pressure to the centre of the memory card. Hold the MicroSD card by the edges and gently insert it into the slot as shown in the above diagram of your Mio. To remove a card, gently push the top edge of the car d inwards to release it, then pull it out of the slot.
How do I use the remote control? Installing the battery for the remote control 1. Remove the plastic film from the remote control. 2. Insert a small rod, such as a straightened pape rclip, into the eject ho le and push firmly ( n ) and pull out the battery holder ( o ).

Reference What is GPS? The Global Positioning System (GPS) is available at any ti me, free of charge, and i s accurate to within 5m (15f t). GPS navigation is made possible by a network of satellites that orbit the Earth at around 20,200km (12,552mi).

How do I use the touch screen? Navigating on the screen To operate your Mio, touch the screen with your fingertip. You can perform the following actions: Tap Press and release an item displayed on the touch screen. Select Tap an item in a list or tap a command from a menu .

Main Menu The Main Menu is your sta rting point for searchin g fo r a destin ation. The Main Me nu also allows you to customise your Mio, view saved locations as My Place/Home, and search for POIs nearby. Tap the bu tton to show the next page of Main Menu.

How do I watch digital TV? If an optional digital TV card is i nstalled on your Mio, you can watch the local free-to-air digital TV progr ams. WARNING DO NOT watch TV whil e driving. It may be illegal in your state or count ry for a display showing a video to be in view of the driver.
Changing TV settings Complete the following: If you want to ... Then ... check the one-week program guide provided by the local digital TV program providers tap Electronic Pr ogram Guide . Select a date. The screen will show the program list of the selected channel.

If you want to ... Then ... reset the GPS tap Reset GPS . When the warning dialog box displays, tap Yes . Occ asionally, the GPS fix may need to be reset. This may occur if the receiv er has been tran sported a long distance since last being used; for example, to a different country, and is still trying to establish the previous position.
