1 INTRODUCTION The MINUT EMAN ALLIANCE Series Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) has been designed to be maintenanc e-free, and to provide years of ex cellent service. It will provide superior power protection f or personal com puters, telephone systems and other critical elec tronic equipm ent against all com mer cial power anomalies.
2 These UPS units are intended for use in a tem perature- controlled, indoor area fr ee of conductive c ontaminants. Selec t a location, which will provide good air circ ulation for the UPS at all, times . Avoid locations near heating devices , water or excessive hum idity, or where unit is exposed to dir ect sunlight.

8 the UPS problem chart in the back of this m anual. OPERA TION The UPS loads m ay be controlled by the UPS power switch. Since the UPS powers up in the Inverter m ode, a functional test is provided every time it is turned on (or the TEST Button is pushed).
9 UPS MONITORING CONFIGURA TIONS All models except A300 provide a UPS m onitoring capability which will allow direct interface with many differ ent computer oper ating sy stem s. T his capability permits an unattended, orderly shutdown of the com puter system when com m ercial power is lost f or a long period.
10 SERVICE If any problem is enc ountered with y our MINUTEMAN ALLIANCE UPS, c ontact y our supplier or Para Systems c ustomer s ervice departm ent. Prior to calling, please write down and be prepared to discuss UPS status indications and if the UPS supplies power in any mode.
11 FUSE REPLA CEMENT (A ll Models except A2000 ) A 300, A 300/2, A425, A 425/2, A 900 and A 1250 models : Turn of f the UPS and unplug the power cord f rom the wall receptac le before rem oving the fuse c ap. Remove and inspec t the fuse and replace, if blown.
12 NOTE : Units returned f or repair are f ound to have no function problem other than a blown, replaceable input f use, tripped, re-settable input br eaker (a2000) or discharged batteries will incur charges as stated in the above paragraph, even if these units are under warranty.
