7 English INST ALLA TION PLACEMENT This UPS series is intended to be install in a temperature controlled environment that is free of conductive contaminants. Avoid locations near heating devices, water or excessive humidity , or where the UPS is exposed to direct sunlight.
8 English CONNECTING THE BA TTERIES (QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL ONL Y) Please read all of the W ARNINGS and CAUTIONS before attempting to connect the batteries. 1. Remove the UPS from the shipping box and set on a table or a bench top. 2. Remove the retaining screws from the bottom of the front panel of the UPS.
9 English CHARGING THE BA TTER Y The UPS will charge the internal batteries whenever the UPS is connected to an AC source and there is an acceptable AC voltage present (90 - 150V AC). It is recommended that the UPS's batteries be charged for a minimum of 4 hours before use.
10 English SYSTEM OVERVIEW This Line-Interactive UPS protects computers, internetworking, and telecom- munications equipment from blackouts, brownouts, overvoltages, and surges. The A VR function continuously corrects the volt ages, in-between the brownout and overvoltage transfer point s (90 - 150V AC), to a safe usable level.
11 English USB COMMUNICA TIONS PORT The USB communications protocol is HID. The HID USB driver comes stan- dard in the Windows OS. Simply plug the USB cable into the UPS and the computer then follow the prompts on the screen.
