P-1 1. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS F OR INSPECTION AND SERVICE • When performing inspection and ser vice procedures, observe the f ollowing precautions to prev ent accidents and ensure utmost safety . ✽ Depending on the model, some of the precautions given in the follo wing do not apply .
P-2 W ARNING 2. Before starting the procedures, be sure to unplug the power cord. • This product contains a high-voltage unit and a circuit with a large current capacity that may cause an electric shock or b urn. • The product also contains par ts that can jerk suddenly and cause injur y .

P-7 4. Precautions for Dis/Reassembl y • Be sure to unplug the copier from the outlet before attempting to ser vice the copier . • The basic rule is not to operate the copier anytime during disassembly .
P-8 8. Handling of the PC Drum ✽ Only for Products Not Emplo ying an Imaging Car tr idge. During T ranspor tation/Storage • Use the specified car ton whenev er moving or stor ing the PC Drum. • The storage temperature is in the range between – 20 ° C and +40 ° C.
P-9 NO TES • Even when the PC Drum is only locally dir tied, wipe the entire surface. • Do not expose the PC Drum to direct sunlight. Clean it as quickly as possible e ven under interior illumination. • If dir t remains after cleaning, repeat the entire procedure from the beginning one more time.

D-1 1. DISASSEMBL Y/REASSEMBL Y NO TENOTE • Before reassemb ling, make sure that the amount of storage memory used is 0%. • If the amount of memor y used is not 0%, print out or delete any data in the memor y .

Remov e the reinforcing plate (4 screws). NO TE Make sure that the flat cab le for the hard disk drive and the power rela y harness are not pinched.
D-3 (2) Removing the CLAN circuit boar d 1. If the hard disk drive kit is installed, disconnect the connectors from CN4 and CN5 on the CLAN circuit board.
D-4 2. Remov e the 3 screws. ✽ Access screw ➁ through the space between the scanner and the document cover after opening the cover . Tighten screw ➂ together with the CLAN finger . Use a shor t screwdriver on scre ws ➁ and ➂ . 3. Remov e the CLAN circuit board.
D-5 (3) Removing the expansion cir cuit boards (printer/network scanner/ network interface) 1. With the Di3510f, Di3010f , Di2510f and Di2010f, disconnect the Ni-MH batter y cable from CN3 on the MFB3 circuit board (in order to prevent dam- age to the memor y IC).
D-6 (4) Removing the expansion hard disk drive 1. Remov e the upper rear cover , the rear cov er , the I/F CLAN circuit board cov er , the reinf orcing plate and the connector brack et. 2. Disconnect the connector from CN4 on the CLAN circuit board. 4599U035AA 3.

T- 1 1. PR OBLEMS WHILE PRINTING FROM A COMPUTER 1-1. Computer printing prob lems Num- ber Symptom P o ssible Cause Remedy Description 1 The printing position does not match the previ- ously used printer . The application paper and print set- tings are incorrectly specified.
T- 2 5 Bla nk pages are fed out. There are blank pages in the print data. Remov e the blank pages from the print data, or select the appro- priate copier or printer driver set- ting that does not output blank pages. (Depend- ing on the data for- mat, blank pages may not be output- ted.
T- 3 7 Data was sent, but could not be printed, or printing did not begin for a long time. The specifically designed printer driver was not used. Use the specifi- cally designed printer driver . If the print data canno t be received correctly , stop printing.
T- 4 10 The printed pages were not sor ted in a crisscross orientation. There are limitations on the sizes of paper that can be sor ted in a crisscross or ienta- tion. P aper of the same size is not loaded horizontally and ver- tically in separate paper draw ers.
T- 5 14 The desired paper source cannot be selected. Additional optional paper feed units are not installed, or the 3rd and 4th paper dra wers cannot be selected from the paper source options on the Device Options Setting tab.
T- 6 17 Sor ting is not perf orme d as specified. The sor ting method has been specified by using the Print command in the application. By using the Print command in the application, spec- ify that no sor ting is to be performed, and then select the sor t setting from the printer ’ s Prop- er ties dialog box.
T- 7 18 The number of copies is not as speci- fied. Whether the setting specified from the printer ’ s Proper ties dialog box or the set- ting specified by using the Print com- mand has priority dif- fers depending on the application.
T- 8 21 The binding position can- not be speci- fied. Double-sided print- ing or booklet bind- ing is not specified. Check that doub le- sided printing or booklet binding is selected. The binding position and the binding margin can only be specified if dou- ble-sided printing or booklet binding is speci- fied.
