3 MIL W A UKEE Electric Chain Hoists are r ugged, por table hoists that provide quic k, precise lifting. The hoists are constructed of tough, but lightw eight, die cast alumin um allo y housings. An oil bath transmission, equipped with heat-treated, allo y steel gears and an ov er load limiting clutch, provides smooth and reliable oper ation.

AL W A YS DISCONNECT HOIST FROM POWER SUPPL Y bef ore remo ving the electrical cov er or when making any electrical connection in the hoist or pushbutton station.
11. Do not operate unless hook tra v el limit devices function. T est without load each shift. 12. Do not operate when hoist is not centered ov er load. 13. Do not operate if chain is not seated properly in sprock ets or sheav e groov es . 14. Do not operate damaged or malfunctioning hoist.
7 CHAIN Chain is to be kept clean and lubricated (See LUBRICA TION, page 9). Visually check chain ev er y time hoist is used. Hoist must not be operated when chain is twisted or kink ed. An impor tant phase of hoist maintenance is chain inspection. Check individual links and chec k for chain elongation.

Lay the hoist on its side and remov e the four screws that attach the sheav e housing to the gear housing (See Figure 12, Ref .
9 3. Carefully raise load block to upper limit and observe if it stops automatically at desired le v el. Do not allow load bloc k to run into hoist housing — this will damage the hoist.
Limit Switch Shaft Remov e any dir t accumulation and spra y with a general pur pose lubricant. Hook Bearing Apply a f e w drops of SAE 30 gear or motor oil around the edge of the bearing. Idler Sheave Bearing (Bushing) Disassemble load b lock and apply a light coat of NLGI #2 grease, or equiv alent, inside of bear ing.
11 5. Remove f our screws attaching gear box co ver to gear housing and remov e gear box cov er. Limit switch drive shaft will come along with the cov er. 6. Inspect gears for broken or se verely worn teeth and inspect all bearings. Replace as necessary .
