The flying sparks, hot workpiece, and hot equipment can cause fires and burns. Accidental contact of electrode to metal objects can cause sparks, explosion, overheating, or fire.

OM-441 1 Page 35 T rouble Remedy Lack of high frequency; difficulty in establishing Gas Tungsten Arc W eld- ing arc. Use proper size tungsten for welding amperage. Reduce leakage of high frequency from torch or work cable (check grounding, remove excessive coils from weld cables, use shorter weld cables, etc.
