IMPORT ANT SAFETY INS TRUCTIONS 12 Do not sit or lea n on the opened door . This could cause the dish‐ washer to tip and be damaged, and you could get injur ed. Dishes can be very hot at the end of a progr am. Allow them to cool until they are comfortable enough t o handle before unloading.

Before using for the first time 18 Opening the door At the end of progr ams wi th a drying phas e (see "Pr ogram overview"), the door will open automatically a little in order t o help the drying process. This function can be deactivated if pr e‐ ferred (see "Settings menu - AutoOpen").
Before using for the first time 19 Closing the door P ush the baskets in. T hen raise the door upwar ds until the catch engages. The door will then close automatically . Danger of crushing injuries! Do not put your hand inside the door as it is closing.
Before using for the first time 20 Basic settings T urn the dishwasher on using the sensor button. The welcome screen will appear when the dishwasher is turned on for the first time. Language The display will change automatically to the scr een for setting the language.
Before using for the first time 21 Wat er hardness The display changes to the water har d‐ ness setting. – The dishwasher must be progr am‐ med for the wat er har dness in your area. – Y our local water supplier can t ell you the wat er har dness level in your area.
Before using for the first time 22 Before using the appliance for the first tim e, you require: – Appro x. 2 lbs (1 kg) of dishwasher salt – Domestic dishwasher deter gent – Rinse aid formulated for domestic dishwashers Every dishwasher is test ed at the fac‐ t ory .
Before using for the first time 23 Filling the salt reservoir Important! Before filling the salt r es‐ er voir with dishwasher salt for the first time, you must fill it with appro x. 2 qt (2 l) of water to enable the salt t o dissolve. Once the dishwasher has been used for the first time, ther e is always suf‐ ficient water in the r eservoir .
Before using for the first time 24 Salt refill indicator Fi ll the salt reservoir with dishwasher salt for reactivation when Refill salt appears in the display (If it appears during a progr am, wait until the end of the progr am). Confirm with OK .
Before using for the first time 25 Rinse aid Rinse aid is needed to pr event spotting on dishes and glassware. The rinse aid is filled in the reservoir and the set amount will be automatically dosed. Filli ng the rinse aid reservoir with deter gent will damage the reservoir .
Before using for the first time 26 Add rinse aid only until it is visible in the opening. The rinse aid reservoir holds appr ox. 3.7 o z. (110 ml). Close the flap firmly so that it clicks int o place. Otherwise water can ent er the rinse aid reservoir during a pr o‐ gram.
L oading the dishwasher 27 Tips Remove coarse food residues fr om the dishwar e. There is no need t o rinse items under runni ng water! Do not wash it ems soiled with ash, sand, wax, grease, or paint in the dishwasher . These will damage the dishwasher .
L oading the dishwasher 28 Items not recommended for dish‐ washing – Wooden cutlery, cutting boar ds and dishwar e or it ems with wooden parts – Craft it ems, antiques, valuable vases, and decor ative glasswar e – Plastic items which ar e not heat-re‐ sistan t: the high temper atures in the dishwasher may cause them to melt or lose shape.

Use the upper bask et for small, light‐ weight and delicate items such as cups, saucers, glasses, dessert bowls, etc.
L oading the dishwasher 34 XXL cup rack (depending on model) The cup rack can be set at two differ ent widths so that it can also acc ommodate large cups. P ull the cup r ack upwards and click it back into position at the r equired width. Glassware rack This rail is designed t o hold glasses with long stems secur ely .
L oading the dishwasher 35 Adjusting the upper basket In order t o gain more space for taller it ems the upper basket can be adjust ed on three levels with 3/4" (2 cm) be‐ tween each level. The upper basket can also be set at an angle with one side high and the other side low .
L oading the dishwasher 36 Lower bask et F or larger and heavier items such as plates, serving platters, saucepans, bowls, etc. Glasses, cups and small items such as saucers can also be placed in the lower basket. Do not place thin, deli‐ cate glasswar e in the lower basket.
L oading the dishwasher 37 Glass rack The glass rack can be r aised to make more r oom for tall items. S tem glasswar e, e.g. wine glasses or champagne flutes, can be leaned against the glass rack or suspended from it. Y ou can set the glass r ack at two differ‐ ent heights.
L oading the dishwasher 38 Hinged spikes The spikes at the front ar e used for washing plates, soup bowls, platters, dessert bowls, and saucers. The spikes can be lowered t o make mor e r oom for large items, e.g. pots, pans and dishes. P r ess the yellow lever downwards , and then lower the spikes .
L oading the dishwasher 39 Grates and filt ers Y ou can also wash Miele gr ates, the Miel e griddle plate, and Miele r ange hood filters. Select the Grates & Filters pr ogr am for optimum dishwashing results. P r otruding parts can damage the dishwasher .
L oading the dishwasher 40 Griddle plate L oad the griddle plat e in the bottom basket. T o do so. fold over the front row of spikes. Arr ange the griddle plat e with the grilling surface facing upwards t o guarant ee better drying. Filters Y ou can wash two r ange hood filters in the upper b asket and two in the bottom basket at once.
L oading the dishwasher 41 Cutlery 3D cutlery tray (depending on model) Arr ange the cutlery in the tr ay as shown. T o make unloading much easier , cutler y shou ld be grouped in zones, one for knives, one for forks, one for spoons, etc.
Operation 42 Detergent O nly use deter gents formulated for domestic dishwashers. Refer to the manufactur er's packaging as t o whether T ab products are suitable for the water har dness level in your area. Please note that the cleaning and dry‐ ing results of T ab detergents can vary greatly .
Operation 43 Adding detergent P r ess the opening catch on the de‐ ter gent dispenser . The flap will spring open. The flap is always open at the end of a pr ogr am.
Operation 44 T urning on Mak e sure the spr ay arms are not ob‐ structed. Clo se the door . T urn on the water supply if it is turned off. T urn the dishwasher on using the sensor button. The progr am menu of the last selected pr ogr am will appear in the display .
Operation 45 Starting a progr am The dishwasher can be started only if the door is closed. Pr ess the Start sensor button. The progr am starts, and the prompt Dishes can be added appears in the dis‐ play . As long as this prompt is showing, dishware can be added without com‐ promising the wash r esults.
Operation 46 Energy management T o save energy, the dishwasher will switch off aut omatically 10 minutes af‐ ter the last time a button has been pressed or aft er the end of a progr am. P r ess the sensor button to turn the dishwasher back on.
Operation 47 T urning off At the end of a pr ogram: The dishwasher can be turned off at any time using the sensor butt on. T urning the dishwasher off during a pro‐ gr am st ops the progr am. T urning the dishwasher off during the delay star t time will also stop the pr oc‐ ess.
Operation 48 Interrupting a progr am A progr am will be interrupted as soon as the door is opened. Clo se the door and press the S tart senso r button. The progr am will continue from the point at which it was int errupted. W at er in the dishwasher may be hot.
Options 49 Options In the progr am menu, you can select "Opti ons" for the progr am you have se‐ lected. T urn the dishwasher on using the sensor button. Se lect a progr am. Select the Options option. All available options will appear listed in the display .
Options 50 Extra dry The Extra Dry extr a improves the drying performance in progr ams in which this option is available. Energy consumption is incr eased due t o an e xtended fan running time and an increased final rinse t emperatur e. Soak The Soak extr a is used for soaking dish‐ ware with dried on soiling.
Options 51 Delay Start with EcoStart There ar e three ways of delaying the star t of a progr am. Y ou can set the start time or the finish time of a progr am. Y ou also have the option of taking ad‐ vantage of time variable economy rat es of electricity using the FlexiTimer func‐ tion.
Options 52 Start at With the Start at function, you set the e xact time at which you want the pr o‐ gram t o start. Use +/- t o set the hour and confirm with OK . The hour will be saved and the minute number block will be highlighted. Use +/- to set the minutes and con‐ firm with OK .
Options 53 EcoStart The FlexiTimer function allows you to take advantage of time variable econo‐ my rat es of electricity . Before you can use this option, you must set up to three electricity r ate time zones (see "Settings menu - EcoStart").

If the memory function is activated, the progr am menu for the progr am last se‐ lected will be displayed instead (see "Settings menu - Memory").
Settings menu 57 Time of day The dishwasher is delivered with the time of day (clock) display d eactivated. T o save energy, the dishwasher will turn off aut omatically a few minutes aft er the last time a button has been pr essed or after the end of a pr ogram.

The dishwasher must be progr ammed for the water har dness in your area. – The dishwasher must be progr am‐ med for the wat er har dness in your area. – Y our local water supplier can t ell you the wat er har dness level in your area.
Settings menu 59 Rinse aid Y ou can adjust the rinse aid dosage for best r esults. The rinse aid dosage is set in stages from 0 t o 6. It is set to 3 at the factory . The rinse aid dosage can turn out to be hig her than the set value due to the au‐ tomatic adjustment of the Sensor wash progr am.
Settings menu 60 BrilliantLight This dishwasher has interior lighting. When the door is open, the lighting will switch off aut omatically after 15 mi‐ nutes. The interior lighting can be switched off. Select the setting you want and con‐ firm with OK .
Settings menu 61 Saving options Additional progr am options can be add‐ ed t o some pr ograms, e.g., Short (see "Pr ogram options - Options"). Y ou can use the Save options option to save settings you have chosen for a particular progr am so that they are au‐ tomatically selected when you run the progr am in the future.
Settings menu 62 T emperature Y ou can set whether the temper ature should be displayed in °C/Celsius or °F/ F ahrenheit. The factory default setting is °C. Select the option you want and con‐ firm with OK . Brightness There ar e seven different display bright‐ ness settings.
Settings menu 63 Night time Y ou can select the times for night time t o begin and end. Select the Start at option. Use +/- t o set the time in hours and minutes for the night time to begin and confirm both with OK . Select the Finish at option.
Settings menu 64 EcoStart In order t o run your dishwasher in the most economical way, you can use the FlexiTimer option t o take advantage of your electricity supplier's time variable rat es (see "Options - Delay start with EcoStart - EcoStart").
Settings menu 65 Changing the electricity rate times Y ou can change the start, finish or pri‐ ority of an ele ctricity rat e time. Selec t an electricity rat e time from R1-R3 to change. Selec t the setting you want to change. Use +/- t o change the setting and confirm with OK .

Cleaning and care 68 Cleaning the door front I f soiling remains longer , it may happen that the surfaces can be‐ come discolored or changed. Remove any soiling immediately . Cle an the front with a solution of warm water and a little dishwashing liquid applied with a soft sponge.
Cleaning and care 69 Filter system The filter system in the base of the wash cabinet pr events food fr om being redeposit ed on dishes. It also protects the circulation pump fr om damage caused by foreign objects. This dishwasher must not be u sed without all the filters in place! Collection of coarse soil may cause the filt ers to clog.
Cleaning and care 70 T o clean the inside of the filter , the flap must be opened: P r ess catches together in the di‐ rection of the arr ows as shown, and open the filter . Rin se all the filters under running wa‐ ter . Then close the flap so that the catch engages.
